Highly recommended – Goliath: The Hundred Year War Between Monopoly Power and Democracy.
And his blog.
Mark Zuckerberg said (he's lying) that the reason they will allow politicians to lie in Facebook ads is so voters know they're lying.
If that was truly his goal, then instead of running those ads they could instead run an ad that says "Donald Trump wanted to lie to you" with a link to the ad he wanted to run and providing the evidence that it's a lie.
That would more effectively achieve his stated goal.
I'd subscribe to that news feed…
At least it's not our Department of Transportation (I have a lot of respect for the Colorado DOT):
British officials create 41-mile detour for 65-foot-long road closure
Well, not on purpose anyway. Several rock slides in Glenwood Canyon have sent I-70 traffic on epic state tours…
Tulsi Gabbard won't seek re-election to the House, says she's all in on presidential race.
maybe the Rs will name her as Trump's running mate to keep the Pear happy.
She is getting ready to challenge Jill Stein in the Green Party's primaries. Didn't Hillary predict it?
At my age, 74, I'm not easily shocked. But it was heartbreaking to see John Beno, the affable priest and former state senator from Pueblo, listed in the Colorado Sun's report on priests accused of molesting children. I have many fond memories of John, who is now dead and both unable to defend himself and invulerable to human judgment.
I keep thinking of the Song “Be not too hard, for life is short, and nothing is given to man.”
We can, and should, however, give what support we can to the victims of such abuse. Sadly, the Special Master’s report cites the two allegations against Beno as “substantiated.”
I can’t link from my amazon fire. But Genghis has kindly provided a link below to both the Pueblo Chieftain story and the Special Master’s report.
Here you go, V.
And the AG Special Master's Report is available here.
I am not surprised by the report because I went to a Catholic High School.
I was not sexually abused, but my experiences with the school and religious education in my parents’ parish give me a very low opinion of the morals of the Catholic Church in general. Publicly rigidly moral and judgemental while perfectly willing to be corrupt in private for money or power.
I'd love to see Michael Bennet show the same kind of commitment to his presidential run that Tulsi Gabbard is this morning.
That's kind of a wayward thought, Sue Dough, since Bennett isn't up this year.
It would force a special election though, plus Polis would appoint a replacement. Might be what they're thinking.
Much to my surprise, in my WaPo reading this morning:
Think McConnell will allow a vote? I'm guessing no. If he does and the result isn't unanimous among the Rs, then it's a big story and Trump looks vulnerable. It's all theater until there's a vote.
The Hill says McConnell is supporting it — but continues to say it may not come to a vote and even if it does come to the floor for a vote, it likely could not reach the 60 votes needed to overcome a blocking move.
And the new threshold for participation that Michael Bennet (and others) won't reach. Politico says five already meet them:
No Whitehouse Thanksgiving dinner invite for Phil Anschutz.

Under capitalism, this is a “drawback.”
No one has yet reported a site for tomorrows — Saturday — Pols meetup, which starts at 2. To avoid chaos or default, I propose the original site, Lowdown Brewery, 800 Lincoln St, which is close to many of us and has free parking just north of the building.
The on site brews are excellent. If Curmudgeon shows, I'll even buy him one.
As a special attraction, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will provide free lap dances for anyone in a MaGA hat.
This^^
Lowdown Brewery
Aside from the too-old guy crudeness.
We'll be there. Karen has a 2 pm appointment on the other end of town. I think I'll have her drop me off and meet us back there later.
SCIF invasion will have consequences…
Intelligence agencies and corrupt Democrats spying on Trump campaign will have REAL CONSEQUENCES.
Yawn. This is just a distraction from $rump’s pending impeachment.
Prosecutor Durham is known for being careful, thorough, and non-partisan. This investigation could take years, and it may not have the result you’re obviously hoping for, any more than “But her emails!” And “Benghazi!!” did.
That’s what you call whistling past the graveyard.
Years, I don’t think so.
Impeachment…..yawn. The Senate will never, never, never convict. Just like Bill Clinton, Trump will be even stronger.
Trump never had a 73% approval rating. Hell, he never had a 50% approval rating in a legitimate poll.
I guess "stronger" is a relative term. Especially when he wasn't strong to begin with. That's what happens when you actively alienate everybody who isn't totally with you.
The only place Trump could rise to a 73% approval rating would be in Moderatus' grandmother's basement after the Kleenex box runs empty.
Hey Pols, I doubt you will take any action. Can you look my account and fix the bug that requires me to log out multiple times in order to comment. After all it’s in your best interest to generate clicks.

Wow, what customer service!
Yep … like those FBI indictments of Clinton coming ANY DAY NOW on her email. Or the certain findings of the DC police on the murder of the staffer, linking that back to Clinton. Or the somewhat confusing idea that a pizza parlor was serving as a sex with minors transfer point bringing down Mueller & co.
Or, more likely, the FBI's new officials bringing charges against Andrew McCabe for … something, something … and apparently NOT getting past a grand jury.
REAL CONSEQUENCES. REAL LIKELY.
"Trump Organization said to be weighing sale of D.C. hotel lease"
Maybe he could sell it to Putin for $1,000.
Or to someone who needs a pardon or deal for 10x the real value.
Since he's rich, making the Constitution fake, maybe he could just give it back to the taxpayers (GSA).
Or they could sell it and give the proceeds to all the cities and states he's stiffed for security and services for his endless campaign events.
Mayor Pete is surging!
