Is Kamala Harris tanking? In the last debate, she proposed giving $2 trillion — yes, trillion — dollars to historically black colleges and universities. There are now 292,000 students at such schools, which works out to about $7 million taxpayer dollars per student. Elizabeth Warren suggests $50 billion to such schools, an endowment of about $200,OO0 per student.
Warren as the moderate is an idea that takes some getting used to, but Harris’ proposal carries pandering to an insane level.
And, Harris thinks Kavanaugh should be impeached. She said she learned her lesson when she over-reacted to Al Franken and now apologizes for failing to respect his due process rights. I guess she didn’t really learn that lesson after all.
My guess at this moment is that she will be the nominee, but as V says, she has to stop pandering.
Bernie is going to have to one-up that $7 million per student allocation in order to stay in the game.
Giving away free stuff is to left what massive tax cuts for the rich are to the right.

In an 8–1 decision by conservative Chief Justice Warren Burger, the Court explained that “[o]n occasion this Court has found certain governmental interests so compelling as to allow even regulations prohibiting religiously based conduct.” Prohibiting race discrimination is one of these interests."
And from that Bob Jones University case decision grew a sense of threat to "traditional values" which has morphed, but has never been extinguished.
Tax exemption for religious institutions morphed into a concern for Christian Schools and their autonomy to discriminate and teach "according to their faith," into a search for another cause to appeal to a wider group that settled on abortion banning ("save the children"), into a "Moral Majority" which backed Reagan.
