I just received the mass email below from the Bennet campaign. There’s a name you never see anywhere, even indirectly – Andrew Romanoff. Instead it takes aim first at Norton and then at Buck.
Clearly Bennet thinks the primary is over (I guess their internal polls match what we’re seeing) and it’s time to start attacking his opponent in the general.
He also clearly sees both Norton and Buck as having a decent chance at winning the GOP primary – otherwise why hammer both of them.
Full email below (5 asks but I did not copy yhe links).
Dear David —
This week marked the first day of summer, and the only thing rising faster than the temperature is the level of extremism we’re hearing from our Republican opponents.
Jane Norton’s most recent volley is a shameful web video that offensively uses our heroic servicemen and women as props, rather than treating their service and sacrifice with the respect it deserves.
Desperate tactics aren’t a surprise coming from a desperate campaign. But we’ve seen that, if left unanswered, these Swift Boat style attacks can work.
Let’s show our opponents that we have the resources and the strength to fight back — their worn out political games won’t work this time.
Contribute $10 now and help us reach our goal of 20,000 donors — we have less than a week to go before our end of quarter fundraising deadline!
While Michael continues to fight for Colorado’s working families, his Republican opponents are racing to the right in their tight primary battle.Ken Buck may actually be leading in the race for best far-right panderer. For months Ken has been touting plans to scrap the Department of Education and repeal our hard fought victories on health care reform — all bad ideas that would hurt Colorado’s working families.
It probably shouldn’t be surprising that extreme positions like those have made him a favorite of the Tea Party crowd. In fact, a far right group just bought more than $125,000 of TV ads for Ken Buck — their favorite candidate.
Contribute $10 now and send a message: Coloradans want real leaders — like Michael Bennet — who fight to solve problems. We have no use for more politicians content to play games for political gain.
We face a stark choice in this election. But if we work together, I know we can move Colorado forward. We’ve already seen an outpouring of grassroots support for Michael’s fresh approach and his commitment to finding common sense solutions.
Will you contribute $10 today to help ensure that politics as usual don’t drown out our efforts?
Thank you for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Craig Hughes
Campaign Manager
Bennet for ColoradoP.S. This is our most important end of quarter deadline yet. Please contribute $10 now to help reach our goal of 20,000 donors before the deadline!

When has Bennet ever mentioned Romanoff in any campaign mailings? He’s running a Rose Garden strategy — nothing new about that.
I’d also add that you rarely see Bennet’s name pop up in Romanoff’s e-mails. They usually refer to him as “our opponent”.
you’d think that AJS was a far LEFT group. So which is it, people? Or is it maybe just a mainstream group that wants people to have jobs?
It’s neither! It’s a front organization for whoever wants to funnel money into third-party spending. But you can imagine there’s some ideology behind the group if you want.
sounds pretty straightforward to me. People want jobs. Hence, they created a group to promote candidates who would promote job growth. What proof do you have of your claims? And third-party spending for what? They’re not just running ads for Buck you know.

who want their jobs secure. K st has nothing to do with it !
Somewhat different appeal- but my analysis is similar to yours, DT. Forget about warming up- that fat lady is in the locker room resting up for the next show.
how Kerry doesn’t mention Andrew Romanoff. When does the House Judiciary Committee issue subpoenas about this?

clearly, the establishment is doing the establishment thing, by sending out letters to protect an incumbent.
Specter and Bennet must be the same- they were both endorsed by Kerry.
I betcha Kerry endorses Sestack if hasn’t already.
like Kerry is due.
