Right now, thousands of health care professionals working for Kaiser Permanente are fighting for better conditions for workers and patients at Kaiser facilities–and they’re ready to strike if need be.

For years, Kaiser has supplied fantastic care to Colorado patients, but lately management at Kaiser has been treating their “nonprofit” network more like a for-profit enterprise on the backs of the people Kaiser patients rely on every day. Kaiser’s healthcare workers deserve a contract that addresses the rising costs of living in Colorado, keeps healthcare affordable for workers and patients, and allows Kaiser healthcare professionals a secure retirement after spending their working lives taking care of us.

Action item #1 this week: Kaiser Permanente Colorado has a new President, Michael Ramseier. Send a message right now to Ramseier urging him to bargain in good faith with 3,500 Kaiser healthcare workers in Colorado.

Thanks for taking timely action to back Kaiser healthcare workers in their negotiations. Once that’s done, here are more great ways to take action for the week of September 3:

As many of us know, legal equality and representation in elected offices does not eliminate the lived equality gap that affects many of us in our day-to-day lives.
