Powerbroker lobbyist Charlie Black continues to be a major help to his sister-in-law, Republican Senate candidate Jane Norton.
Norton will be in Washington D.C. in mid-June for two fundraisers with big names attached as hosts. On June 15, Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch will host a fundraiser for Norton. One day later, former Senator and GOP Presidential candidate Fred Thompson will headline for Norton. Both events are big-ticket affairs, with guests asked to fork over $1,000 for dinner with Norton and the gang.

Perhaps sea food from the Gulf?
children from third world countries stir fried with a clam sauce.
clams from the gulf of course…
much less $1,000, to hear any of them. But I guess that’s why I don’t move in those circles.
I find Hatch pretty fascinating but I’d rather watch paint dry than listen to Fred Thompson speak.
He was great in that.
range from $200-1000. Just how it is. Like I’ve said before, Norton has the credibility of lieutenant Gov.
The “inevitable” nominee with a ton of establishment connections and fundraisers. And a campaign team that spends more time fighting among itself than for the candidate.
Charming yet deceptive.
in the cuticle in her left pinky than you have in your whole twisted psyche. And she has much more education, to boot.
And if you think Hillary has integrity then you’re dumber than I thought you were. She’s out for one thing, and that is power. Otherwise she’d have divorced Bill a long time ago. It’s pretty funny to watch you try to defend the “integrity” of the Clintons.
Interesting fact – Hillary used to be a Republican and was the president of Young Republicans in college. She only turned to the dark side because she felt betrayed by Richard Nixon. If not for him, she’d probably still be a Republican.
are not necessarily the views you will hold for the rest of your life, nor should you expect that to be true of anyone else. How oddly myopic of you.
Thankfully the usual process is conversion from Democrat to Republican as people gain more life experience and start paying taxes.
I was just like you when I was a college student. Then I grew up.
Check to see how many of the bloggers here used to be Republicans and are now Democrats. Hint – it’s a LOT, perhaps even a plurality. Including me.
you got your GED.
What do you expect?
… and while you’re at it, bullshit about “death panels” some more. That was awesome, from a guy who thinks he’s riding the high horse of fact accuracy.
I didn’t realize you FAILED your GED.
I can understand it, though, being as dumb as you are. But don’t worry, McDonald’s has a place for a mind like yours!
Repeat after me:
“You want fries with that?”
Hillary could at least sound intelligent. Every time I’ve heard Norton speak she sounded mousy and neverous and would tail off at the end of her sentences. It always sounds like exhaustion or ignorance.
My impression has always been, “seriously, who give her any money, for anything.”
John McCain and his buddies. Oh, and her brother-in-law Charlie Black and his buddies.
… maybe Hatch and Thompson will save the Norton campaign with informative speeches entitled, “Lessons in how to win Republican primaries, from the inspiring Hatch 2000 and Thompson 2008 presidential campaigns.” I hope Norton gives her boytoy Penry a yellow pad on a brown clipboard to take notes from these masters of Republican infighting!
Prior to the assembly the most recent Rasmussen polling had Norton against Bennet and Buck against Bennet as follows:
Feb Norton +14 Buck +4
Mar Norton +9 Buck +6
Apr Norton +5 Buck +4
May Norton +7 Buck +7
My sense is we will see Buck pick up a couple points against Bennet who lost at the assembly and Norton, who was forced to skip the assembly, will lose a couple points to Bennet.
Yesterday, the straw poll at the Denver Republican Breakfast, where McJain spoke, Buck 59%, Norton 32%.
If you guage things by the positive vs negative press, Rasmussen shows Buck getting twice as much positive press.
If you guage things by strategic mistakes, the reaon Norton wants to get into the Romanoff job scandal is to call attention to how her campaign and its NRSC handlers was successfull in getting Frazier out of the Republican primary? I don’t get it.
Norton continues to bleed and fundraising gets harder.
Meanwhile Buck got over $50K last week from the Senate Conservatives.
I think the guys with money in DC know how this story is going to end.
It’s at least as reliable as Rasmussen!
You raise a good point, though. The reason Buck wants to get into the Romanoff job scandal is to call attention to how his campaign was also offered valuables to get out of the Senate primary. Is he saying he is equally corrupt? That’s a strange admission for a candidate to make, but if you say so.
538 tore to shreds the phenomenon of conservatives citing Rasmussen and only Rasmussen. Either Rass is full of shit, or at best they have a uniquely Republican-skewed sample, such that conservatives quoting only Rass is bullshit selective quoting from only the pollster whose assumptions favor them.
Or maybe it’s best that we quote whatever BS we like. I just took a poll of my ass cheeks, and the results were 2 votes for Bennet, 0 for Norton or Buck. Landslide!
