  1. Jason Crow is on Morning Joe talking about his ICE transparency bill. But he got the impeachment question. He said he is more interested in getting information.

    Has Perlmutter taken a position yet?

      1. Thanks for the info on Perlmutter's position.

        Where the senate candidates stand may be interesting but probably not relevant. Presumably the impeachment will take places prior to November 2020. Unless, of course, Trump is impeached this year, re-elected next year, and re-impeached in 2021. 

    2. Jason Crow did a great job on Morning Joe.  Topics:

      1) He's introducing legislation to require Congressional access to ICE facilities.

      2) Impeachment — He's for letting the process of information gathering to continue

      3) Iran – He highlighted his combat experience and blasted "Cabinet warriors" (my term) for blustering us into wars that they don't fight themselves.

      Well done, Representative Crow!

  2. I recently realized that both MA and VT have Republican governors.  So, if either Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren become president, we would lose their Senate seat to a Republican appointed by these GOP governors.

    1. Both Massachusetts and Vermont require the seat to be filled by election, special or general, within about 6 months.

      2. But, I believe that INITIALLY, the Republican governor would make an interim appointment. If they resign immediately after the November election (as Obama did), then the replacement election dates are moved earlier in the year. 

        Still not the best situation, as we need every Democratic Senator we can get or keep.

        Warren is wicked-smart, as they might say in New England. If she isn't selected for President, I can't decide if she should be given a cabinet position, the VP or stay active in the Senate.

        Sanders' strength is moving the Overton Window. If he isn't selected for President, I think his best position would be to remain Senator. I don't see him as VP or in the Cabinet.

        1. In both states, the governor makes an interim appointment prior to the special election.  But the election comes shortly after (within about six months).  Maybe not your preferred situation, but hardly worth deselecting a candidate you want to see as president.

          Edit: I meant to also write: or, for that matter, for a sitting senator to decline a position in someone else’s administration.

    Calk, the founder of mortgage lender Federal Savings Bank of Chicago, illegally used the bank’s resources to curry favor with Manafort, ignoring internal standards and lying to regulators, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday in the Southern District of New York.

    Remember when the NRA and their obedient toadies in the GOP got all bent out of shape awhile back when a proposed amendment to the Violence Against Women Act would have included a provision prohibiting DV and stalking offenders from owning a firearm?     2. Hell is any place suffused with Trumpstink.  Paradise is any place where the grace and wisdom of Nancy Pelosi keeps the useful idiots in check.

    olice interviewed one of the women, who said she shared alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes with Galindo during campaign work, and several times had sex with Galindo. In some instances, she reported, she was in a black-out state and could not remember what happened.   11. Tulsi Gabbard was on Fox News this AM at about 8:30. An in-depth interview that all Democrats should watch. You will find a strong woman who is not influenced by partisan group think on the issues of the day. If Democrats want any chance to compete against Trump, Gabbard is the logical choice. Or you can stick with the #metookooks, and go down in flames in 2020.

      It would likely, and I'm guessing here, ease the edge off of many opinions of you on this site. If there is a brain with an attached conscience in your head, you will eventually come to understand the brutality and moral bankruptcy of the man (using the term loosely) you and your party have chosen to be your leader.

      Are you really proud of the angry, red-faced, imbecile that your front man has become? What does it take to embarrass the GOP nowadays? 

      When he is finally rejected by Americas' immune system, are you going to take up arms to defend him? Does T***p represent the best of America to you? Will you help him become king?

      You are going to be called upon to answer these questions in real life…I hope you are ready.
