Sign Up to Help Recall Democrats from Office! Win a Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle!

(The Las Vegas shooter would be green with envy! – Promoted by Colorado Pols)

A hard-line pro-gun group is kicking off its campaign to recall a Greeley lawmaker with another gun raffle, this one for the largest firearm it’s ever given away, a Barrett M82A1 magazine-fed Barrett .50 BMG semi-automatic rifle.

“Dear Fellow Patriot,” reads the RMGO website. “Make no mistake, gun owners in Colorado are in the biggest fight of our lives! We need all hands on deck! To help rally the troops, RMGO is giving away the largest gun we’ve ever done…”

The gun is a semi-automatic sniper rifle with massive power and maximum range of over a mile.

All you have to do is sign up here to be eligible to win the semi-automatic.

Folks who sign up will join Republican and RMGO leaders who are working together to remove State Rep. Rochelle Galindo (D-Greeley) from office.

They’re mad not only at her vote for a “red flag bill,” which allows law enforcement personnel to seek judicial permission to take guns from dangerous people, but also her support for comprehensive sex education, for more local control of oil-and-gas operations, and more.

“Her Red Flag vote was tip of iceberg,” tweeted RMGO, which is opposed to even the most modest gun safety measures, like criminal background checks prior to gun purchases, that are supported by many Republicans.

Tom Mauser, who lost his son Daniel Mauser in the 1999 Columbine High School massacre, told the Colorado Times Recorder last year that the “red flag law could have prevented the Aurora theater tragedy” as well as the Parkland High School shooting in Florida.

“I would say to RMGO, how would you would propose to prevent these tragedies?” said Mauser. “There is strong public support for laws like this. This type of law is in place in at least 10 states, including pro-gun states like Indiana and Florida.”

  1. Consider Justice Scalia's opinion in Heller:

We think that Miller’s “ordinary military equipment” language must be read in tandem with what comes after: “[O]rdinarily when called for [militia] service [able-bodied] men were expected to appear bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time.” 307 U. S., at 179. The traditional militia was formed from a pool of men bringing arms “in common use at the time” for lawful purposes like self-defense. “In the colonial and revolutionary war era, [small-arms] weapons used by militiamen and weapons used in defense of person and home were one and the same.” State v. Kessler, 289 Ore. 359, 368, 614 P. 2d 94, 98 (1980) (citing G. Neumann, Swords and Blades of the American Revolution 6–15, 252–254 (1973)). Indeed, that is precisely the way in which the Second Amendment ’s operative clause furthers the purpose announced in its preface. We therefore read Miller to say only that the Second Amendment does not protect those weapons not typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes, such as short-barreled shotguns.

Just how common is a "Barrett M82A1 magazine-fed Barrett .50 BMG semi-automatic rifle" ??  And how will people use this "semi-automatic sniper rifle with massive power and maximum range of over a mile" to defend their home?

    1. The far right wingers; like the Dudster (a.k.a. Dudley Brown); do forget that the late Justice Scalia was not an absolutist on gun rights.

    2. Neither literacy, nor comprehension, is a requirement for modern-day militia membership . . .

. . . but, having big toys that make a loud bang is de rigueur!

    1. The more inadequate the person, the bigger the tools to compensate.  I knew a judge who was barely 5' tall, he drove around in a Hummer the size of an apartment building.
