We’re not sure why an Oregon Senate candidate would steal the logo from an unsuccessful, unknown NHL hockey team (logo at right) from Ohio, but, whatever:
Oregon Senate candidate Marc Delphine loves America so much that his web team co-opted the Columbus Blue Jackets logo and made it their own.

Something tells me there’s an opening on Marc Delphine’s campaign…
the Blue Jackets’ other logo
probably doesn’t resonate much, one way or the other, in Oregon.
use Civil War imagery?
They initially had their mascot as an insect (like a yellow jacket) but lately they’ve been playing up the Civil War history angle given Ohio’s involvement in that war.
I think they’d be better as the Fightin’ 44th but, hey, what I know about marketing a hockey team is not much.

and the Union war effort.
Are probably grateful for the exposure.
He could start on their 2nd line…or their first.
He’s too soft in the corners. 🙂
Is the web designer found the logo, figured it looked good, and assumed no one would catch on. Dumb mistake.
The logo’s gone.

Good Lord, a little overly dramatic, no? I mean, it’s not like his campaign cured cancer or won the Battle of the Bulge. They removed a logo that they somehow accidentally “liberated” from a hockey team.
I think that they not only attempted it, but they succeeded. Unless he’s saying that they did in fact ask the Columbus Blue Jackets for permission, or that it was just a magic accident that it was the same exact logo as a mirror image, then this is worth of being tagged a Diggs Brown Certified Non-Apology ApologyTM
Going for that Civil War buff vote, I see …
“…10% what happens and 90% how you react to what happens… ”
How about 10% what you do (steal) and 90% what happens to you (get caught)?
