Colorado #2 in State Job Growth Listing

  • by: Colorado Pols

As The Daily Beast reports, Colorado is #2 in a listing of states with the best job growth prospects. Wyoming is listed at #1, but we don’t consider Wyoming as a real state since only five people live there. So, basically, we’re #1:

For a state to perform well in these rankings, they need to reflect a high projected employment growth rate, show real employment growth over the past three years, and boast low current unemployment rates.

#2, Colorado

Jobs gained 2006-2009: .4%

Current unemployment: 7.7%

Employment growth through 2018: 22.4%

Median individual salary: $29,275

Hot industry: Air transportation

Reports like this showing Colorado is well-positioned to recover from the recession are obviously good news politically for Democrats. Of course, it’s also hard to run a serious TV ad citing “The Daily Beast.”

  1. I thought our Dem Guv and legislators were driving away businesseses and killing jobs with their evil tax policies and pesky rules? Memo to Colorado GOP spinners: never mind.

    1. Until we get some answers from the Dept of Revenue we can’t sell to any business in Colorado. But I wouldn’t classify that as policies or rules, I’d classify that as incompetent administration.

      1. including Sen. Gale McGee and the fabulous Rep. Teno Roncalio.  What Wyoming Democrats may lack in quantity, they sure make up in quality.
