   Teachers and School District decide to make up

   Back to school: DPS, teachers' union reach agreement after all-night discussions

    

   According to the DCTA, highlights of this agreement include:

   • An increase of about 11 percent in base salary on a clear and transparent 20-step salary schedule
   • Full cost of living increases in years two and three of the agreement
   • The opportunity to use professional development to move lanes on the salary schedule
   • An end to five-figure bonuses for senior DPS administrators

   In addition, both sides agreed to a study of the effects of high-priority school bonuses on teacher retention.

   No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law

   1. So he will either lose or win in court.

      If Trump loses in court, he'll need to come up with another scheme to pay for his wall.

      If Trump wins in court, that vastly increases the power of the presidency so that President Kamala Harris can declare a climate change emergency and take appropriate measures. Or President Elizabeth Warren could declare a health care emergency and decree Medicare-For-All. The possibilities are endless.

      Assuming Ginsberg stays healthy and on the court, this will be a five-to-four Supreme Court decision with John Roberts in the hot seat.

Not necessarily.  He can lose in Congress.  The National Emergency Act allows Congress to weigh in on the emergency declaration, which Pelosi almost certainly will.  The Act also requires one house to take up the resolution if it's passed by the other, and in a reasonably short amount of time.  Turtle Mitch will have to bring up a vote either on the resolution or to decline to hear it.

         1. But assuming it passes in the Senate given the GOP majority, Trump can veto.  Overriding his veto would be problematic.  So the courts will likely be the best venue to stop this Trumpvesty.

            BTW — has anyone else noted that the timestamp on this site is about 30 minutes in the past? I write this at 3:21pm
