  1. Continuing on the series of senses:

     * Trump stinks

     * Trump throwing papers and making a mess is an eyesore

    * Trump's preferred meal of well done steak with Ketchup leaves a bad taste.

  2. The definition of a Trump shortlist: 1) the number of times he's told the truth, 2) the number of times he hasn't accepted corrupt money (foreign or domestic):

Federal prosecutors are examining whether foreigners illegally funneled donations to President Trump’s inaugural committee and a pro-Trump super PAC in hopes of buying influence over American policy, according to people familiar with the inquiry.

The inquiry focuses on whether people from Middle Eastern nations — including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — used straw donors to disguise their donations to the two funds. Federal law prohibits foreign contributions to federal campaigns, political action committees and inaugural funds.

The line of questioning underscores the growing scope of criminal inquiries that pose a threat to Mr. Trump’s presidency. The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, is focusing on whether anyone in the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to tip the 2016 presidential election in Mr. Trump’s favor, while prosecutors in New York are pursuing evidence he secretly authorized illegal payments of hush money to silence accusations of extramarital affairs that threatened his campaign.

  3. Well, this is not a purple statement.

"Friday on “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) said now that the Democrats have won back the House of Representatives, they were operating as a “revenge majority” because they do not think President Donald Trump should have been elected.

According to Gardner, the Democrats not working with Trump on border security funding is “based on a revenge majority that they just elected to the House.”

“This is nothing more than a revenge majority,” Gardner stated. “They want to fight against a president that they believe never should have been elected in the first place, and so the policies that they are pursuing are all going to be based on revenge: investigations, cutting border security, doing everything they can to provide that revenge.”

    1. And wasn't it the Denver Post editorial board that praised Gardner for his "statesmanship"?

Count on Republicans like him to project their own worst impulses on their "enemies".

    2. I'm good with the idea of the House Democrats being a "revenge majority"  …. especially as the Senate and Trump are "revenge majorities" against Democrats and particularly Obama.

  4. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who took over for Melissa McCarthy impersonator Sean Spicer as White House press secretary, is stepping down at the end of the month. She hopes to be remembered as "transparent and honest."

In related news, a rectangle retiring effective 12/31/18 hopes to be remembered as the most circular of all circles.

    1. I’m actually surprised. I thought she, if anyone, would stay with him to the bitter end. Maybe the legal bills are starting to outstrip her salary. Hope the door hits her in the fanny on the way out. Then again, it’d be hard to miss.

    2. best I can tell, this “Sarah is going” mention is an anonymous "people say" story. I can't find anything with SHS's own words, a tweet from the *resident, or an explicit statement from the new Chief of Staff, or acting Chef of Stuff, or whatever Mulvaney's title is this week.

      1. SHS didn't deny it, either…just went on about how she loves her job and is honored to work for POTUS, plus got a few licks in about the dishonest medja running the story without asking her.  But that was in a CBS story  and Sanders tweet dated last June.

SHS recently blathered on about her legacy and how she hopes people remember her as transparent and honest (spoiler alert: they won't).

So she may actually be leaving at the end of the year. One can hope.

  5. lol

Chris Fucking Christie, a guy with nothing to do and all day to do it, passed on the White House Chief of Staff job. Gotta protect that 15% approval rating he had upon leaving office. laugh

    1. Christie isn't a complete idiot. He'd like to keep future employment possibilities alive, no matter how slim those might be, and keep his law license. Being Trump's chief of staff would end both.

      ETTD.

      1. Good points, one and all!

Maybe the administration should reach out to Grady Nouis, the sociopathic Proud Boy racist who lost the HD-29 election last month. Can't imagine he much cares about future employment prospects.

          1. That might just work. I see the OMB director accepted the job, but only on an "acting" basis.

Then again, p. much everyone in the Dump administration holds his or her job on an “acting” basis.

            1. You can already hear the laughter:

“For the record,” the president tweeted later Friday evening, “there were MANY people who wanted to be the White House Chief of Staff. Mick M will do a GREAT job!”

I wonder if Mick demanded Trump give him the same perk Les Moonves got.

  6. Trump ran for office due to his commitment to serve his country (not)

The eleven-billionth Trump corruption story of the last 48 hours involves the Trump inaugural committee (which was a freestanding non-profit entity that raised money from corporations and rich folks) getting fleeced by the Trump Organization’s D.C. hotel:

During the planning, Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter and a senior executive with the Trump Organization, was involved in negotiating the price the hotel charged the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for venue rentals. A top inaugural planner emailed Ivanka and others at the company to “express my concern” that the hotel was overcharging for its event spaces, worrying of what would happen “when this is audited.”

That’s from ProPublica and WNYC, which obtained emails between Ivanka, inaugural official Rick Gates (who’s since pleaded guilty to financial fraud and lying to investigators in another matter being investigated by Robert Mueller), and inaugural event planner Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. Wolkoff, a friend of Melania Trump’s, was flabbergasted at the price that the Trump hotel had quoted for potential use of its event space—and her previous experience includes events like the Met Gala mega-celebfest, so it’s not like she’s a Puritan when it comes to luxe party spending. The Wolkoff email that ProPublica obtained, moreover, was sent afterIvanka had already interceded to lower the Trump Org’s proposed price—and Wolkoff thought the new price was still twice as high as it should be.
