Trump stinks,
Therefore he is!
Your quote du jour ending “to turn it into glory.” made me think of this:
We don’t need, nor should we want, glory. We need Democrats who aren’t afraid to be Democrats. Democrats unfraid to serve their Colorado constituency rather than their Wall Street pals:
Michael Bennet is still a Blue Dog.
Sen. Bennet is unlikely to go anywhere in the next two years, Zappatero. If you haven't been able to impact his choices since his appointment in 2009, through his election in 2010 and his election in 2016, I'm not certain what you will be able to do in 2019 or 2020.
Rather than repeating your opposition to Bennet, can you shift to some enthusiasm for someone who meets your exacting standards of being a good Democrat and able to take on Sen. Gardner? I'd be much more enthusiastic to hear who you are for instead of the tired, banal, repetitive, and pointless (for at least the next two years) criticism of Bennet.
I guess, JID, I might take this opportunity to ask you…can you appreciate that Zap is speaking for a group of people who believe it doesn't matter what they think? They believe "Establishment" Democrats (not an unfair label for our senior senator) are not appreciably more trustworthy than Republicans.
I am among the people who believe the Democratic party is the best way forward for this country and it needs to rebuild itself from the ground up. That means it needs to include at a record pace, young voters. (yes , dave…and young leaders).
I, myself, have run headlong into a party leadership with their tires in a rut and no inclination to turn the wheel. Any attempt in past years to move the Mesa County Democratic party to the left has met with complete resistance. The past and existing Dem leadership has always been unwilling to get in the sewer and expose the people who have, and continue to run the county to institute and enrich themselves. Those who dare challenge and expose Republican liars and cheaters don't get very far. It is a small town.
It is only fair for me to tell you, the last time I spoke to the assembled Democrats of Mesa county, it ended with my abrupt departure and some very terse and direct comments from me about my frustration with decades of watching and trying to make an impact on this (Mesa county) party…and failing.
Remember the root word of rejuvenate. Our future is in the hands of our youth. Our job is to pass it on to them better than it was handed to us.
The Tories are just as stubborn as the Revolutionaries…but we're not as busy counting our money. We don't have any…
Duke – I'm in Denver, but still appreciate that there are elements of the Democratic Party who don't want to adapt and seem stuck in the track of the old. And I, for one, would certainly support some change in areas that should be gravitating to Democratic politicians to implement Democratic priorities to serve the population.
Speak of the need for change all you want. Propose paths for change and I will eagerly read and, if possible, agree and possibly even argue for a nuance that could, possibly, improve the chance of success for the change you want. Put people forward for Party leadership or elected office and I will consider them.
But a one note samba, berating a two term Senator not up for election until 2022 for not being something he is unlikely to ever become, just caught me wrong today.
"Our job is to pass it on to them better than it was handed to us….."
Somewhat paraphrased, that's what Ronald Reagan said about our public lands. Even if he did appoint James Watt as Secretary of DOI, Ronnie signed more wilderness bills into law than any other president, before or after him.
I understand. 😊
Michael Bennet is still a Blue Dog.
You say that like it is a bad thing.
When I wasn't looking, the Democrats picked up 41 House seats.
Is that the final tally? Last I saw, Ds had picked up the UT seat around Salt Lake City, by just enough votes to avoid a recount. Was there another CA seat still undecided?
Worth noting that Trump and his gullible followers have crowed about their "big victory" in the Senate. Their prediction before Nov. 6 was flipping 7-8 D seats. End result was flipping 4, but losing two R seats, for a net gain of 2 seats. Flipping just 4 of 24 D seats up for election is a distinct underperformance.
Thank you, Cory Gardner. Probably the first, last and only time I'll say that.
You have to hand it to Donnie's sheeple, they went bold and bigly: electing three felons and a dead pimp this cycle.
#41: NY-22 Anthony Brindisi beat Claudia Tenny 117,931 to 116,638
Thanks, PH. I knew there was a forty-first, I just couldn’t remembr where.
Still 1 uncalled house race in California (CA-21)
And on an unrelated note, Banger, this one's for you:
To quote Stone Cold Steve Austin…………
Oh hell yeah !!!
Thanks Unnamed. Looks like that poster is probably from the 1970s. If you get a chance, check on You Tube for their concert on the River Plate (Argentina) a few years ago. Looked like a minimum of 40,000 in the stadium, for that show, when the cameras panned around.
I'll do that if I have the time. Thanks.
