  1. Most entertaining article about how Pelosi deals with the "revolt of the 16", aka Ed Perlmutter et al.

Nancy Pelosi Just Showed Us Why She’s the Democratic Leader

Looking forward to seeing if any of "a lot of great, diverse candidates from all across the caucus who would be fantastic as our next speaker," is willing to have their name put forward in the caucus meeting next week.  And to measuring whether signing such a letter brings immediate "retaliation" in any meaningful sense. I'm betting that nothing happens prior to Pelosi deciding to find other ways to be busy and thus avoid raising money or campaigning for Ed in 2020.

    1. On second glance, maybe the gang of sixteen was a 3-dimensional chess game designed to highlight Pelosi's political skills. We wouldn't want Nancy P getting soft by skating to success would we?

  2. Hickenlooper asks Colorado’s top court to make decision on taxes that could help fire districts

Hickenlooper, who is set to leave office in a few weeks, announced Tuesday that he asked the court whether two different constitutional amendments about how taxes are calculated can coexist and, if they can’t, whether one of those amendments needs to be removed.

The request comes days after a Denver Post report on the dire financial straits the situation has created for fire, library and school districts across the state.

It will be interesting to see if they answer, and what.

  3. Just saw on Yahoo News that the "American gene pool has been cleansed again (my wording, not Yahoo's)."

A young American Christian evangelist tried to preach the word of Jesus to the natives of North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal. The natives killed him with bows and arrows. The Indian government has had the island off-limits for decades to protect the natives, who don't want visitors, from introduction of diseases for which they probably have no natural immunity. Sad that he is dead, but he did it to himself.
