  1. My ballot and my spouse's ballot went in last night …  making up 1.6E6% of the results. If I count zeros correctly, that is 0.00000016% of the results so far.  Feeling pleased to contribute to D wins.

  2. ….and this surprises no one bit our precious pet troll Nutter:

With the midterm elections days away, Michael Cohen sat down with  Vanity Fair and detailed President Trump’s repeatedly racist language:

Per Cohen, Trump has said the following in the past:

    – “Black people are too stupid to vote for me.”

    – "Name one country run by a black person that’s not a shithole.”

    – “Only the blacks could live like this.”

    – "There’s no way I can let this black f-r win."

    1. I heard about this earlier today and wanted to read it. Thanks for the link, Michael.

      ——————————————-
Okay, I did read it and Coen just added further confirmation that The Yam is dirt. But I can’t say I think much of him for continuing to work for him after he had figured that out.

  3. Classic Trump:

President Trump is reportedly about to give State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert a big promotion from talking about American foreign policy to doing American foreign policy, as Trump is looking to nominate the former Fox News correspondent to be the next U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nauert has no actual diplomatic experience, obviously, other than she’s been the chief communications official at the State Department for the last year-and-half, one of the least diplomatic and most shambolic periods in the department’s history.

The looming appointment shows how Trump is intellectually incapable of distinguishing speaking about a thing from actually knowing about/how-to-do a thing. Donald Trump’s disdain for experience and expertise is unparalleled. More worrying is the prospect of a Secretary Hannity or any of those other lightweights on the Fox News’ morning show.

      1. Well, herding cats as governor has some of the same traits as ambassador, I suppose.  As opposed to simply managing office politics as a spokesmodel and pundit.

But, for the life of me, I don't recall Haley accomplishing anything notable in her time carrying out Trump's agenda at the UN, with the major exception of leaving the job with (most of) her dignity intact — a true testament to her diplomatic skills!

        1. It confiscates billions of dollars of private property without compensation.  Stalin tried to exterminate "kulaks" , small private landowners, and steal their lands.  The extremist backers of 112 are trying to do the same to Colorado farmers andranchers, of whom I am one.

Also, calling it Stalinist really drives its most rabid backers, like MJ, batshit crazy😉

          1. No it doesn't. Proposition 112 only prevents people from engaging in oil drilling. The people who own the land get to keep it. It's just regulation.

            1. That's a lie.  I own both the surface rights and the mineral rights.  But Stalinist 112 confiscates my mineral rights because some yuppie is offended by seeing a drilling rig a half mile away.  I can't drill, sell or make any beneficial use of my property, i..,e. the oil and gas.  Yes, that's the same thing Stalin did to the kulaks.  And 112 won't give me a dime in compensation for stealing what I would conservatively estimate as $50,000 in mineral rights.

were you really unaware that mineral rights, like water rights, are property rights?  If so, you need to do some homework before lecturing on the subject!

              1. It doesn't confiscate mineral rights. No one gets the mineral rights. In fact, you still own the mineral rights and, if you can find a way to remove the oil from your property without drilling within 2,500 feet of the sorts of areas prop 112 is meant to protect, you can do so and only you can do so! All it does is stop you from doing something which is actively harmful to the health and safety of people in the area.

Also, is not your comparison to killing people and stealing their land, not saying that some people don’t have mineral rights? Seems like a bad comparison.

                1. Welcome to Pols, deathpigeon. It's a good public forum and you seem to be a reasonable denizen of it.

Just don't count on getting a reasonable response from V. You'll be able to tell that he's run out of coherent arguments against your points about 112 (or any issue, really)  when he begins randomly insulting you.

We've rehashed all of these arguments yesterday. I agree with you, and more importantly, the experts agree – 112 is  not a ban, there will still be a natural gas industry in Colorado, just with longer underground piping, and it is unhealthy for humans or animals to live in proximity with fracking wellheads, as upheld by Colorado SC in the Martinez decision.

Hopefully, we have all voted and are encouraging others to do so.

                  1. I should mention that MJ 's welcome only applies if you agree with her.  If you disagree she will accuse you of "mansplaining."

In her view men are stupid and not entitled to explain anything.  But oddly, she opposes outstanding women candidates like Hillary Clinton and Cary Kennedy.

but she hates the people in the oil and gas industry, so she's with you on this one.

                    just don't mention that you're a man .

                    Sigh.

                  2. Thank you for the warm welcome! 🙂 And, yeah, there will be a natural gas industry in Colorado, if prop 112 passes, unfortunately. I voted for it, but that's the big problem I have with the measure. It absolutely does not go far enough.

                    1. By the way, why do you hate pigeons?

do you think they produce energy.

and thanks for admitting you arecavtotal freeze in the dark extremist.

it makes it much easier to discredit your argument.

                      free the pigeons!

                2. Some people don't have mineral rights. That's clear.  Some people don't have cars.  Some people don't have televisions.  In my case, I do have mineral rights, which have been in my famil y since 1887.

I won't have them after tuesday if your Stalinist plan goes into effect because I can't exercise them.  If I drill on my own property, harming no one, I could be arrested and go to jail.

Your argument is like telling me I have the right to vote as long asI don't vote.

No, you want to confiscate my mineral rights, without compensation.  That violates the 5th amendment to the Constitution.  I and other farmers will sue your Stalinist ass.  And we will win.

Or, we can avoid this by voting for American values and crushing 122.

Vote not only no but hell no.

Joseph Stalin is dead.  Let's keep it that way.

                  1. If you can find a way to get the oil under your land without drilling within 2,500 feet of protected places, you still can and no one else can! So you'll still have the mineral rights! The mineral rights means you have the exclusive right to extract the minerals in question from your land, which you still have. But you can't do it, under prop 112, in a way which harms people. It's not like saying you have the right to vote, so long as you don't vote. It's like saying you have the right to start a restaurant, so long as you don't violate any safety standards.

And, to be clear, I think that's a pretty major flaw with prop 112. I don't think anyone should drill for oil or burn oil anywhere. Prop 112 only deals with people's safety from the drilling of oil, which is admirable, but does not go far enough because every step of the way with oil is bad. Burning oil is killing this planet and it needs to stop asap.

But even that wouldn't be confiscating your mineral rights. If it were confiscation, the government would be able to drill for the oil on your land, but the government should not be allowed to do so either. Nor would that be Stalinist. Even by your flawed analogy, you said, "Stalin tried to exterminate 'kulaks'" before stealing their land for the use of the government and, guess what, no one is trying to kill you before giving the government the use of your mineral rights!

                    1. Admirable retort, deathpigeon.

Welcome to Pols. Don't mind V. He is as loveable as a sour ol' curmudgeon can be.

He just loves him some Oily Boyz….

    1. "…doesn't have Coloradans best interests at heart."

Governor Frackenlooper has never had my best interests at heart. He is loyal to his Oily Boyz…he has their best interests at heart.

      And, of course, his own.

      1. He has my interests at heart along with those of thousands of hard working farmers and ranchers who se property rights will be worthless if Stalinist 112 passes.
