Who Will Be Colorado's Next Governor? (Round 6)

  • by: Colorado Pols
Jared Polis (left) and Walker Stapleton

Mail ballots will be out in the wild starting next Monday. We’ve been asking our readers this question for weeks now: Who do you THINK is going to win the race for Governor?

Remember, we’re looking for your best educated guess on the outcome of this race, not who you support or who you would prefer to see emerge victorious. The point of this exercise is to track how perceptions of the race are (or are not) changing as Election Day nears. For previous results, click Round 1Round 2, Round 3Round 4, or Round 5).

Who gets to move into the Governor’s Mansion in January? Will it be Democrat Jared Polis or Republican Walker Stapleton?

Who Will be the Next Governor of Colorado?

  1. It's safe to assume that Polis will be the next Governor. Anyone care to start putting together his Cabinet? Who will head the Department of Natural Resources, or the Department of Public Health and Environment?

      1. Hillary didn't exist in a vacuum, people do this with every serious candidate in every executive election. The Reds who think every poll but Rasmussen is fake news are probably doing the same thing right now with Staples.

  2. Ain't no certainty until the current part time Secretary of State adds up the numbers in Colorado's "secure" voting process.

It is looking good. For those of you who read more widely than I, is there a conservative blog with an estimate from their readers/participants? Does any group go out in public and say Stapleton is on track to win?

      1. Is Colorado Peak Politics the ideological mirror image of Coloradopols? Do they have Dust Puppy pop in each day to serve as Moderatus in their parallel universe?

        1. They may be mirror images ideologically, but the conservative sites have a much more restrictive posting policy than Pols does. Simply put, they do not allow dissenting opinions. At all.

The first amendment is much less honored than the sacred second. Peak doesn't allow commenting at all, except on its facebook page, so they have  zero dissent. I tried to post some pro-ACA comments on Redstate once, and got banned as a troll. Here's Redstate's commenting policy (note #6 prohibiting support for any non-Republican):

Elliott tried to recruit me as a troll for Complete Colorado (he knows the owner), knowing that a little dissent actually increases interest readership, so they're probably smarter than the  other rightie sites.

However, the prospect of being endlessly vilified as a libtard just didn't appeal to me, so I never took him up on the offer.

So be grateful to the editors and owners of Pols; the Dead Guvs encourage small d democracy, dissent, and debate.

          1. MJ knows that private web sites like Colorado Peak Politics can structure themselves any way they want.

Having said that, whoever owns C.P.P. seems to be a total wimp. Pols is OK with conservatives posting; why isn't C.P.P. able to handle posts from liberals?
