  1. Gather my children and you shall hear

Of the gawdawful Trumpstink from Donald Trump's rear.

Oh, one if by land and two if by sea.

Donald Trump is still swimming in prostitutes’ pee.

    Burma Shave

    1. I note you conveniently left out Maher's list of all the Republicans who are bashing, or have bashed, Trump. Maher's list also is not all-inclusive. There are many more. The 15% of registered Republicans who don't support Trump equals a number in the millions.

      1. C.H.B., Zappy is part of the problem, not the solution. He is as kooky as the tea baggers on the right, albeit he is from the left. To me, it doesn't matter – crazy is crazy whether it is from Ann Coulter and Shawn Hannity, or Zappatero and Dust Puppy.

        1. Don't equate Zappy and Dust Puppy.  Zappy is a fanatic, but in the end votes for even moderate Democrats against fascists.  Dust Puppy is an admitted jilliot.

dust Puppy once wrote that he is deaf.  I'd love to see him post a few diaries from that perspective.  How about it DP?

  2. Manafort's plea bargain with Mueller has started the dominoes to fall.  Now Cohen is racing to get the best deal possible since he knows if Manafort spills all, he better be ready to go too.  Now they have the Russian lackey Manafort, Trump's fixer Cohen, and his long time accountant, Weisselberg,  Trump should assume the crash position — bend over and kiss your ass goodbye!

    1.

If Democrats want to nominate a man, Hick might be the best available. Bernie would be 79 by the next election, 87 if he served two terms, and that’s ridiculous.

      1. I would definitely like to see Hick run.

Somewhat off topic:  There's a new poll out in U.K. in which 42% of voters said they would support creation of a centrist party in Britain.

        https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/sep/15/almost-half-of-voters-say-they-would-vote-for-new-party-in-election

They are disgusted with the Brexiters running the Conservative Party and they are not interested in Jeremy Corbin's Redistribute-the-Wealth movement.

It is nice to see sanity gaining a foothold somewhere in the world.

As for Bernie giving it another go, nothing says “A Future to Believe in” like an 87 year old leading the charge.

    2. Jennifer Rubin is not usually QUITE so focused on only the "good points" of a politician.  I suppose it is nice a Hickenlooper candidacy isn't just getting laughed at.

The last "outside of Washington" candidate to get the nomination was Clinton.  Before that, the "outside" candidate was Carter.  So, the notion of an outsider may well work.

Anyone here think Hick could attract "the best and the brightest" to work on his campaign?  Or that his more personal & whimsical style of campaigning would work on a national level?

        1. Voyageur —

Reagan had been a national voice since (at least) his days as a surrogate for Barry Goldwater in 1964.

He hadn't been elected, but was a close second in the 1976 nomination battle, having campaigned nationally for his own effort, and then, afterwards, doing some campaigning on behalf of Ford.

With Ford's loss, Reagan became the heir apparent, and began showing up nation wide for Republican events, especially in 1978 election campaigns.

Looking at his Cabinet nominations and key appointments, there really aren't too many "out of towners."

  3. Now the fun begins……

Christine Blasey Ford has come out as the woman who wrote the anonymous letter to Dianne Feinstein about Brett Kavanuagh's alleged antics.

    https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/writer-of-confidential-brett-kavanaugh-letter-speaks-out-1321820227597?v=raila&

Wonder if Grassley will reopen the hearings to allow her to be heard? My guess: no, unless Collins and Murkowski – or two other Republicans – demand it.

UPDATE: Jeff Flake has indicated he is uncomfortable with the nomination of Kavanaugh going forward this week before this is investigated.

  4. Walkkker Stumbleton's agenda in a nutshell (cribbed from the RNC):

The radical agenda is the Republican agenda: Make climate change worse, unlike almost every other conservative party in the world. Aggravate inequality. Sabotage health-insurance markets. Run up the deficit. Steal a Supreme Court seat. Keep dark-skinned citizens from voting. Protect Trump’s lawlessness.

    Note to Zap:

And if you consider yourself a leftist, I understand you are probably frustrated that the Democrats won’t go further. But look at the big picture. The Democratic Party may not have moved nearly as much as you would like, but the party has moved. It has adjusted its agenda in response to soaring inequality and stagnant living standards.

The one mistake no voter should make is pretending that the two parties are just different versions of the same thing.

  5. Well, that honeymoon didn't last long….

One person close to the president described the situation as a “divorce.” At the moment, Trump has no plans to travel to Florida to campaign for DeSantis in the November general election, according to two GOP officials familiar with the president’s schedule.
