I note you conveniently left out Maher's list of all the Republicans who are bashing, or have bashed, Trump. Maher's list also is not all-inclusive. There are many more. The 15% of registered Republicans who don't support Trump equals a number in the millions.

Manafort's plea bargain with Mueller has started the dominoes to fall. Now Cohen is racing to get the best deal possible since he knows if Manafort spills all, he better be ready to go too. Now they have the Russian lackey Manafort, Trump's fixer Cohen, and his long time accountant, Weisselberg, Trump should assume the crash position — bend over and kiss your ass goodbye!

If Democrats want to nominate a man, Hick might be the best available. Bernie would be 79 by the next election, 87 if he served two terms, and that’s ridiculous.

They are disgusted with the Brexiters running the Conservative Party and they are not interested in Jeremy Corbin's Redistribute-the-Wealth movement.

Jennifer Rubin is not usually QUITE so focused on only the "good points" of a politician. I suppose it is nice a Hickenlooper candidacy isn't just getting laughed at.
The last "outside of Washington" candidate to get the nomination was Clinton. Before that, the "outside" candidate was Carter. So, the notion of an outsider may well work.
Anyone here think Hick could attract "the best and the brightest" to work on his campaign? Or that his more personal & whimsical style of campaigning would work on a national level?
He can certainly attract the better and the brighter when compared to the best and brightest who were recruited to serve in the current administration.
You overlooked Ronald Reagan, who never served in Washington until he was president.

Reagan had been a national voice since (at least) his days as a surrogate for Barry Goldwater in 1964.
He hadn't been elected, but was a close second in the 1976 nomination battle, having campaigned nationally for his own effort, and then, afterwards, doing some campaigning on behalf of Ford.
With Ford's loss, Reagan became the heir apparent, and began showing up nation wide for Republican events, especially in 1978 election campaigns.
Looking at his Cabinet nominations and key appointments, there really aren't too many "out of towners."
