Beautifully played by Senator Schatz. It’s encouraging to know that Sanders was not judged by the color of her skin but the contet of her character.
At some point, Democrats are going to have to reckon with the fact that, while politics determines which electeds win and which lose, it's policy that determines the outcomes of the lives of Americans and others to whom our government's reach extends. Democrats being in power won't fix these problems, as Democrats who've been in power have shown us. It's about the people we elect, not the (letter) next to their names.
Some of the pictures of border kids that haunt me most are from 2014. Here's why
"Nevermind guys, let the Republicans keep it all, we'll just be in this corner hating ourselves!" – Democrats who spout this shit.
Stop falling for the GOP's bait. We need to be a Megalodon chomping up their crippled cruise ship, not some pathetic guppy too afraid of our own reflection to fight.
You can fight and still be honest about where you've fallen short. You can be more worthy to hold office than the "other guy" but admit that you can be worthier still. You can, but you won't, and that won't surprise anyone, really. In fairness, nobody in your party, or out of it, expects that.
Sudafed, as he constantly reminds us, is much too good to be a Democrat. I think he's registered with the Anti-Masonic party.
I agree that "It's the policy, stupid!" (not the D or the R). Obama set a precedent for the indefinite family detentions Trump wants, but at least he didn't separate the kids to achieve it.
The private prison industry profits no matter what we do, and again to Obama's credit, he did put in place some limits on how many bodies private prisons get to have.
