I read an article in our local paper today about his upcoming visit this Wednesday evening to introduce himself to local voters. In the article, the writer touted Buck’s conservative values and the fact that he had signed the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights.
And if he thinks he is still in the running, maybe Club for Growth thinks so, too.
Went out from DeMint late last week.
The word is that Wiens is working very hard to get on their radar and the next few days are pivotal: Buck’s sorry numbers should help, DeMint’s not going for Norton either way.

Why is it Pols is always in love with whoever most recently announced? I’m going to announce I’m running for something so for a week I can be the upcoming credible threat.
Buck’s not a shooting star by any measure, but he has been solid. Wiens on the flip side hasn’t done anything yet. He may shoot to the top. But he may also never get out of the starting blocks.
Buck hasn’t had very good funs raising numbers. Wiens has said he would be willing to self-fund.
If you ran for something and said you would self-fund your campaign, they would probably give you “credible threat” status.
Most here take the lesson of Jared Polis – which was actually an exception. Few take the example of Ali Hasan – which is the norm.
Ken’s money numbers are low, but not so bad as to rule him out. He needs enough money, supporters, GOTV effort, etc. that in total it beats Norton. He’s still in range.

It seems reasonable to question a candidates abilities in this area.
When did Norton declare bankruptcy anyway?
Jane Norton’s campaign manager is CFG board member Ken Blackwell’s former campaign manager. And I believe (haven’t double checked) that CFG board member Terry Considine has contributed to Jane.
This doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen, but the odds of CFG coming for Jane Norton are higher than the odds of them supporting an opponent.
