Let’s do what it takes to secure America’s future; that starts with our children.
Since I declared my candidacy, I have laid the ground work for a successful campaign to win the 6th CD seat; with voters, with workers, with business and with leaders in our community, state and country. I welcome the voice of all Americans, for I am an American first. I know we live in an America with the best days ahead; that our country is rich in resources and our people are our greatest resource. I believe that we have not adequately invested in our children. I believe we must act now so we do not leave the next generation with a world filled with mountains of debt and mountains of trash. My priorities are the priorities of America; national security and safe communities, rights and prosperity.
I opposed the war in Iraq and have published a plan for leaving Afghanistan while confronting extremism. I know that energy is an essential part of security, as well as border control. I have spoken often of our need to transform our military to fight in the 21st century and ensure that our investment in security has an appropriate return.
I believe education, health care, adequate housing, free association and a dignified retirement are rights. I know that the protection of the laws must be extended to all people equally.
I know that jobs and prosperity are of foremost concern today. We must have a society built on production and investment, a society no longer built on debt and consumption. In order to make this transformation, we must address trade, taxes, subsidies, regulation, retraining, and corporate influence. We must encourage investment in education, technology, innovation and small business. We must address immigration and the quality of our air, water and open spaces. We must invest in America and, most of all, that means investing in people.
We must stand on principle and be pragmatic in finding solutions by finding common ground. We need an effective representative in Washington, one that serves all the constituents, not an ideology and not just a select few. I had a great career in the Marines flying fighters and I have a great career now flying people all over the world. I love coaching children. So if my votes in Washington mean I won’t return, so be it.

Before you master the halls of Congress, you might want to try mastering paragraphs.
but jeez give the guy a break on punctuation and paragraphical parsing.
OTOH- what the heck is he talking about?
“We must stand on principle and be pragmatic in finding solutions by finding common ground.”
Like huh-what?
“So if my votes in Washington mean I won’t return, so be it.”
Double huh-what?
when politicians recognized their literary shortcomings and hired WRITERS, for Christs’sake. Honestly, this is mostly boilerplate stuff.
Tucked it down into Monday’s content though–it’s from yesterday morning.
Also, yes, the spacing.
and also about his campaign.
no one at his campaign could hack it?
I’m just sayin’ – next spring when andromnff starts posting, I’ll be suspicious.
He “wrote” a diary on Daily Kos and weirdly enough, both regulars from Square State–Johne, Lanman–were there as if they knew in advance and were fielding questions. If it was Romanoff, he absolutely sucked.
This is just dreadful! My favorite is the use of “know” instead of “now” in the first paragraph. My first-grader knows the difference. He should be ashamed.
If you ever raise some money, how about hiring an editor? I think after my third read-through I understand what you’re saying and I approve, but you could make it a lot clearer and shorter. Brevity, soul of wit and all that.
