By the way, this hard-left vs. center-left business is probably not going to cost the Dems control of the U.S. House. Dems will probably have a net gain of a dozen House seats.
Where the problem will be is California where a half dozen winnable seats will be lost because there will be no Dem on the ballot in November because too many ran in the primary and Repubs were smart enough (rare occurrence) to run one or two candidates per district.

I'm pro union, and I'm in favor of public education, public roads, social security, medicare, medicaid, obamacare, the EPA, public scientific research, public police, etc.

The article describes the sort of candidates that it believes are displacing moderates in some races. I didn't post it because I think it's "true." I posted it, as I noted, because I think it's interesting. Interesting what the Post writer considers to be the "far left." Interesting to see if these candidates will win in their races. Interesting to see how the party apparatuses, like the DCCC, will participate in races where the candidates they backed pre-primary are out.
After the Illinois primaries, there was a narrative that the more centrist Dems were making a comeback. The articles tend to be too knee-jerk and surface-level.
I think you run candidates who match the district. The Dems can run a God damn socialist in CO CD-1 or CD-2 and he/she would would be able to win. Probably not so well in other places. Likewise, the Dems would be foolish running someone like Connor Lamb in CO CD-1 or CD-2.

One of the chief contests used in the The Daily 202 article on the "far left" is "Kara Eastman, 45, beat former congressman Brad Ashford, 68, in an Omaha-area district."
The facts that Ashford, a one-term former Congressman, lost the 2016 election to the present incumbent, that Eastman has been active and visible in the District while Ashford was licking his wounds, that he is more than 20 years older, and that she is, well, a she, seems to be overlooked as possible elements of the win.
51.4% to 48.6% isn't a huge margin.
I have heard that Ashford is a lazy campaigner and Eastman was very tenacious and driven.

Oh, I've seen folks here talk about a public bank in Colorado. As the article notes, this is what one is for. The public bank wouldn't do retail (regular people) banking, it would use the state's money to back lending. It could also use the state's money to back local government deposits, which most smaller banks can't take, allowing local governments to bank locally and some of that money to be invested locally.
