Mello’s right where she needs to be. Unbelievable support already, will work harder than any other state candidate, and she knows the game inside and out. Look for her to be at the capital next year!
Sam I Am (aka freak boy), I love the fact that you have your party out on a Witch Hunt right now. Keep it up, PLEASE, keep it up!
A: Mello is a shanker, another M Carroll in the making. A great symbol for R’s to light up and make us all look like special interest whiners beholden to commie principles and not the intereests of all Coloradoans.
B: Where is Joe Rice – that is a total land grab? Plus, all the other seats we’re taking/holding.
Haha. Thinking that liberal is a “dirty” word is sooo 2000.
Sara Gagliardi will be sending Bill Crane (HD-27) home in November. She nearly did it 4 years ago and this will be a more democratic year….
Everybody knows that Democrats are really just commies whose real agenda is to burn churches, eat babies, outlaw guns and turn everybody gay.
Jennifer Mello is a surrogate for Fidel Castro and if she’s elected Fidel will import his god-less revolution to Wash Park. With the help of the thousands of undocumented dish washers, Fidel will violently redistribute the wealth of Cherry Creek and the Polo Club. The dishwashers from Mayor Hick’s restaurants are the shock troops that mello/castro juggernaut will use to destroy freedom.
The revolution beings with Mello.
Rep. Gwynn Green will definetely not retain here seat. It is a wonder that she even found the Capitol to serve her first term. “Can anyone tell me where the west steps are? I don’t know where I am if I can’t see the mountains.” And that is not hyperbole, or as Rep. Green prounounces it, “Hyper-bowly”
Also, Rep. Knoedler should win SD 21. Senate leadership is having a tough time advancing their agenda because Boyd has been legislating like a Republican, but her chameleon act will not be enough to outlast Knoedler. In a district that wisely believes individuals who prey on children deserve to be guests of the state, Boyd will be found to be out of touch on this issue – she voted against a mandatory sentencing bill for sexual predators while serving in the House near the beginning of the current session – along with many others.
Since there is no incumbent in SD-32-I’m sure it will change hands- into the hands of Mello.
Who is running against Morgan Carroll?
I think a Texan named Boney is currently holding the space until the
Rapture comesGOP finds a candidate. In all likelihood, he’ll be the candidate, but he doesn’t seem too enthused about it.This district was made to order for Jennifer Mello.
Jennifer has dozens of volunteers and is working really hard.
A Texan?!!! Thats all the Republicans could find? Eeeeewww.
I agree with Tony the Tiger Viva Mello.
Jennifer Mello has it all. Jennifer is young and dynamic, has great qualifications and offers new leadership.
Jennifer will win this and than move up the political ladder.
Re: Mello
Dude, you guys get great stuff in Denver. I was left completely unimpressed with her when she was the sacrificial lamb running for cu-regent statewide in ’04. I would wager her views and potential could be interchanged with 100 others in that district.
I’m confused why SD32 is on the list. Sure, it’s an interesting primary, but it’s a Dem district. Is Dave Lewis planning to be more than a paper candidate? I don’t care how nasty the primary is, I don’t see enough people flocking to the Republican side–especially this year.
SD32 is one of the three most Democratic leaning districts in the State.
Jennifer Mello is the clear front runner. Look for Jennifer to win this State Senate and move up the ladder. People who know Fran Coleman and Chris Romer the best are supporting Jennifer Mello
JFKFC, the Jennifer Mello surrogate for Fidel bit is great. I needed a good laugh today. ROFL.
Correction: Thinking that liberal is a “dirty” word is sooo 1988. Where is Geo. H.W. Bush talking about that vulgar “L” and Michael Dukakis………..
Jennifer Mello is a breadth of fresh air.
Jennifer Mello is a “breadth” of fresh air. Just how much of a “breadth” is she. Why she is sooooo wide. I take it you meant “breath” of fresh air. How can someone who lost CU Regent in 04 actually be a breath of fresh air? Just like the Dems to paint the horse a different color and call it new.
And in your world “What color do they paint your sky?”
“breadth” is even more funny if you have actually seen Jennifer. She will be competing with Morgan Carroll for the title “thinnest legislator”
every1
loves Jennifer
even those that cannot spel
can anyone think of another candidate who has created this much excitement so early?
Jennifer Mello…..? Never heard of her. She part of the Mello/Yellow soda drink conglomerate?
If so, cool. They sponsored Kyle Petty for many years.
What about HD 39? Mollie Collum is up for this district once again, and she is a definite fighter. David Balmer’s history from North Carolina is coming back to haunt him and his amibitions are well-known to those who know he doesn’t care about his district, as much as he cares and political power for himself.
Look for a VERY fun time this Friday, April 28th, at CB & Potts on Arapahoe and Yosemite for “Mollieokie” and her kick-off event, the begining of her climb to victory!
Nostradumb-ass,
I see that you are plugged in to the Trailhead group’s robocalls against Betty Boyd. I find it interesting that Republicans always use crime to scare people, but when it comes to doing the things that could prevent crime, they claim their limited government doctrine. The sex offender bill Boyd voted against was unbelievably ill conceived and was inconsistent with the recently enstated lifetime supervision for sex offenders program which has made Colorado a leader in innovative programs for sex offenders. (With bipartisan support from both houses.) The bill she voted against was outrageously expensive and only put up by the Republicans to get a no vote on something related to sex offenders to use in campaigns against Democrats. No law enforcement or corrections organizations or anyone with any thinking brain supported that bill. So, keep on talkin’ but your pure partisanship is apparent. Betty Boyd has been supportive of wise, thoughtful, cost effective, criminal justice bills, not bills that are shills for Republicans to use in campaigns. Give it up. She’s gonna kick Knoedler’s ass.
Well, I see someone has posted posing as me, but is obvious by this donkey misspelling “Riesberg” that this could not be the real Sam I Am.
Plus, the idiot impostor said something about “REAL Republicans”, but this race features a left-wing Dem lib against a pro-Ref C Republican guy like Owen. While Dave Owen is OK, this is not an example of the hardcore type I would characterize as a “REAL Republican” – not to mention, that term is only useful in a Republican primary.
Better luck next time, dumbass faker. Keep it up and what do I care? I’ll just make up a new handle and still be smarter and better looking than some dope who can’t make up his own post name.
As far as Senate 11 is concerned surely there is no way that a white Democrat could beat a black Republican right? Is Ed Jones popular among african-american voters?
Actually, RMH, no, Ed Jones is not that popular with African-American voters, while John Morse is the former police chief and he’s incredibly popular with both Ds and Rs.
Not really…so our sources say. Ed Jones is the only guy who can go to a bar, sit in on a sting operation by the CSPD, be on the actual tape, and get elected to public office.
Problem is that the Dems don’t have the votes to pull off an upset. Which is too bad. Many of those who helped Ed Jones in the past aren’t available to help him now. For example, Bob Gardner and Sarah Jack are involved in getting Gardner electred to House District 21.
There is a primary election in HD 14 (which includes Senate 11), and the proverbial Governors Race and CD 5. El Paso County is pretty tapped out as far as political campaign managers and strategists are concerned. The locals are spread pretty thin.
Is ther an opportunity? Yes. Whether the DEMs can pull it off is doubtful. Then again, I may be wrong. I don’t live there.
P.S.: Who doesn’t really like Ed Jones? Local law enforcement. The cops on the street do not like him. Also, Ed continues to have problems when it comes to money. Seems he’s always owing somebody something. There are tape recordings of a very interesting conversation between Ed and someone he owed money to. Not certain if the tape still exists…it just may. That would be fun.
Actually Kim, no, John Morse is not popular with Republicans. In 2002 they threw everything and the kitchen sink at Ed and he still won.
mrhandy1002, they tried the sting, they tried taxes, and they tried “being Republican while black”. None if it worked. I am sure that they will bring it back up in 2006, but it still won’t work. Ed will win in November. Bob Gardner and Sarah Jack will be there to help him because Bob will have no problem winning in HD 21.
Plus, anyone who knows Ed, whether you like him or not, knows that he and Betty Jo will be out every night knocking on doors and making calls.
Watzeswithdogs(i wont stoop to your childish level and add a pejorative after your name),
I amd not “plugged” into Trailhead’s robobcalls. I am an avid oberver of the General Assembly. You stated, “I find it interesting that Republicans always use crime to scare people.” How about an example to support you claim?
Regarding HB-1026, I didnt know you knew Rep Berens, the bill’s sponsor, or his intentions so well. Why dont you ask Rep Berens if he used a bill that prosecuted individuals that prey on children 12 andunder as a political ploy.
You stated that anyone with a thinking brain would not have supported the bill. Well, not many thinking individuals had a chance, since Boyd and the Judiciary Comm. killed the bill in committee instead of allowing the issue to be debated on the floor.
In HD 38, the Dem candidate was left off. Which is important, because Lt. Col. Joe Rice would be considered the favorite at this point.
Reality,
Don’t want to get into a cat fight with you, but the right-wingers who did everything they could to take out Morse do not represent your average El Paso Republican voters. Look at the recent school board elections for District 11, where a fringe group of right-wingers lost all three seats to moderates with strong Republican support.
YoungDeminCD6,
Clearly you haven’t been following HD 39 for very long because, if you had, you would know that Mollie Collum stands NO chance at defeating Balmer. Check out the latest campaign finance filings and you’ll discover that Balmer has almost $60,000 in the bank. The Dems would have to throw three times that amount into Collum’s campaign in order to even have a chance to beat Balmer. The Democratic Party is probably smart enough to know not to waste that kind of money in HD 39.
As far as Balmer himself goes, he is probably the hardest working legislator at the Capitol and takes his district’s interests very seriously. He may have higher aspirations, but is there really anything wrong with that?
Maybe during this campaign year, Collum can keep a leash on her crazy husband and prevent him from going around and stealing Republican signs.
So have a good time at CB & Potts. Meanwhile, Balmer will be out working to beat Collum. Rest assured, Balmer will win.
Kim,
I don’t think the SD 11 race and the District 11 school board races are a good comparison, it is apples to oranges.
The conservative activists in El Paso County do represent the average voter. The reality is that everyone knows the moderates in El Paso County are centered in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. And a big chunk of District 11 is made up of moderate Republicans. That’s why the liberals at the state capitol, in conjunction with arch liberal Chief Justice Mullarkey, gerrymandered HD 18 and SD 11 in an effort to elect Democrats in El Paso County. Merrifield even admitted that they were trying to do this in an effort to bring “balance” to all of the Republican elected officials in El Paso. Ironically, he did not support doing the same in an effort to elect a Republican in Denver.
So, the average voter in SD 11 and HD 18 may indeed be more moderate than the rest of the county, but you certainly cannot make a comparison of the voters in SD 11 and HD 18 to those outside of those districts. Overall social conservatives rule the roost in El Paso County.
You Don’t Even Know –
Well, she may not win, but I like her ideas and she seems to be hungry for the win. I sent her my $10, which may not do much, but I’m still happy to participate in grass roots politics, chance or NO chance.
Gywn GREEN and Mollie Collum are what Colorado Needs! So what if Gywn doesnt know where the West Steps are, her name is GREEN! She is my candidate and a true candidate for SAFER… Mollie I love CB&Potts!!!
Nostra – In spite of our disagreements, I don’t usually post those kind of name callings, but your name is just ripe for it. i couldn’t resist.
Knoedler’s a twerp-Trailhead’s phone calls backfire. I know several Republicans who’ve gone unaffiliated to escape the scourge of those things.
However, I’d vote for anyone, irregardless of party who would:
Widen I-70 west, complete through the Eisenhower Tunnel in a decade. Leave a space for the train-but don’t build it. Stop this EIS nonsense and pave something already.
No toll roads-anywhere. This is the most inefficient means of tax collection known to man. Anyone who supports this idiocy should be sentenced to live in Massachusetts for 3 years. Anyone who thinks “technology” can solve this inefficiency should be sentenced to listen to Jared Polis drone on for two hours on how technology can reform education, because his mommy gave him a high tech greeting card company.
Work to suspend Davis-Bacon to fully utilize and exploit the “New Americans” who choose to come to our country to work pouring concrete on these wonderful new transportation projects.
Immigration is a big non-issue. Republicans hanging their hat on it are going to get stung. 10 or 15 % of the state are passionate about it-the rest don’t care-or, even better, understand that cheap labor benefits them and society. We should welcome people who are willing to walk 200 miles across a desert, perform backbreaking labor for minimal pay-all for a shot at the American Dream. Bienvenidos, mi amigos! They are the antithesis of Mr. Knoedler, who from looking at his resume, has never worked at anything besides being a political hack. Go back to Indiana, you hump!
I think people want good roads and criminals in jail from the state government. All the rest of the libertarian manifesto coming from the right is just noise.
Oh yeah, one more thing-eliminate Dick Lamm’s Mineral Severance Tax. As we used to say in the good old days-Dick Lamm before he dicks you.
The truth be told, the reason the District 11 School Board election did not pan out as projected is becauset here was a split in the social conservative camp. Many of thesocial conservatives sent their support to the other candidates primarily because they resented the notion that the Republican Executive Committee had chosen to support the slate.
This was all proposed by Chuck Broerman, El paso County Field Director for the Beauprez camp. When in all actuality, all of the candidates were Republicans. The criticism surrounded why the Republican Pary was endorsing and involving itself in a non-partisan election.
Had this not occurred, the slate may have been successful of they had not been a slate at all. This all or nothing strategy backfired for them. The Colorado Springs Gazette carried an article on the whole fiasco.
Had nothing to do with the moderates at all.
