The big news here is that Bill Winter’s Q1 fundraising wasn’t far behind Tom Tancredo’s. I think that’s amazing, especially given Tancredo’s strong support from national anti-immigration and Minutemen groups.
It’s an uphill climb, but Bill did well this quarter.

Looks like Bill Winter was only $50,000 behind an incumbent. That’s amazing given the district, and Tancredo’s national recognition.

Whoa, where did this come from!? There are two stories from this. One, Tancredo’s cash on hand. Compared to all the other incumbents minus DeGette, he’s more than $600K behind. The second and more eye opening story is Winter’s total raised. The 6th for a D is like running in the 2nd for an R. Nobody can say a Republican could raise $132K against Udall. This is an interesting turn of events.
Where’s Winter’s money coming from? For every action there is an equal reaction. Tancredo raises money because he’s anti-immigration, Winter raises money because the other side wants to muzzle him or bloody him or whatever…my guess is most of his money is from outside the district. Shouldn’t really be a surprise when you’re as outspoken as Tancredo.
By the way, I just checked out Winter’s website for the first time in a while. He has a link on the side to Tancredo’s “dirty money”. Winter’s not far behind Tom in fundraising, and his money is clean as Rocky Mountain Snow.
Tancredo’s dirty money is bad for the district, and for our state. Two Ways Tom defends Delay, then said he should resign, and yet takes contributions from him.
Colorado should say No to dirty money and dirty politicians.

Looks like mostly from Colorado and a lot from his home town of Castle Rock and my home town of Littleton (both in CD-6). Tancredo gets a lot of his money from California, not to mention Tom Delay.

BMR – if you want to look at fundraising numbers, OpenSecrets.ORG is always available. The FEC site is there, too, but it’s harder to read; same data, different format.
I was just glancing at the PDF of the report on Tray.com. I’m sure the data will be uploaded on a more readable format soon.

FEC.gov doesn’t have the 1Q numbers, and Opensecrets.org doesn’t list individuals.

No need to get nasty. And while Druid may not be the world’s most mature person, he is right. Tancredo is one of very few Congressmen who hasn’t returned the DeLay money, and much like Musgrave, whenever he opens his mouth a flood of checks come in for the other side.
