The Denver Post is reporting that a number of Gov. Ritter’s staff and Cabinet members have failed to file financial disclosures as required by a 1999 executive order: http://www.denverpost.com/ci_1…
Needless to say, Jon Caldara has jumped all over the revelation, at least hinting that either some of the people involved may have something to hide or that they were simply unaware of the existing order.
While the omission is unfortunate, I would be surprised if anything significant comes from the disclosures, which are due by Oct. 25. As Evan Dreyer pointed out, all of Gov. Ritter’s appointees were thoroughly vetted.
I think we can, however, count on Mr. McInnis and Mr. Penry to try to make hay with it.
Does this make a significant difference in the governor’s race? I rather think that as long as no wrongdoing is discovered, it’s not a big issue.
