      1. but foreign/American clip qualify?  It certainly is not a rip off of American music.  Could be good therapy for David to pay the 99 cents to load it on the mp3 player, (Enchanted Evening version is best) sit on his favorite vista precipice and contemplate his errant ways.

Kitaro- musical genius, Grammy and Golden Globe honored and former Colorado resident without formal music education whom says he does not read or write music. But boy, does he ever create beautiful compositions.

      1. You read that wrong, Duke. The bear broke into the bedroom that contained a decorative pillow instead of the bedroom with functional pillows.

Or maybe grandma fought off the bear that was broken? What is left to the imagination of the reader is whether there was a fixed bear in the vicinity waiting to challenge the winner?

  1. I was leaning toward the guy and, as a registered R, can vote in the GOP primary.  But how many robocalls does it take to make me lean toward Penry?

Penry fought Ref C and tried to raid education funds for highways.   McInnis interrupts my weekends.  I guess I’ll stick to McInnis, but if you’re listening out there, boys and girls, lay off the robocalls.

    1. .

and over we hear that this fight cannot be won on military terms, that the real battle is for winning over the confidence and support of the civilian population.

And yet, when alternatives are discussed, there’s:

      1. All in conventional war, with the Army occupying 42,000 villages with a force of 1.2 Million troops;

      2. Removing all troops and blowing up everything that moves with precision fires directed from Santa Fe Springs, Nevada; or

      3. Some compromise somewhere in between, with only maybe 100,000 to 400,000 troops on the ground, doing a blend of colonial occupation (what General Petraeus incorrectly calls “counterinsurgency”) and death squads (what General McChrystal incorrectly calls “counterterrorism.”)

We can’t prevail through military might, and yet the only approaches under serious consideration are exclusively or overwhelmingly military.

Golly, I hope Jim Jones (the NSA, not the cult leader) has been briefed on the Interagency.

      .

      1. …that a decision on what do do, whatever that is, hasn’t been made.

I can’t imagine how hanging in the wind would affect the guys over there and their morale.  You would know better than I.

    2. ..this dude has been wrong SO many times on SO many things that even when he manages to trip over a fact I dismiss him outright.

Sorry, Bullshit Bill, this is a tough call. The surge in Iraq didn’t work because we blew the shit our of everything that moved – it worked because the Iraqi’s had had enough of A-Q and the other extremist groups, and they saw the value in the elected government.

GEN Petraeus made the surge work because of the incredible bribes we paid to insurgent groups to stay on the sidelines, including the ultimate bastards the 1920s. GEN  McChrystal is a Special Ops spook who’s only solution is kill kill kill – good inthe case of A-Q and the Taliban, but bad for convincing the Afghan people to side with the Gov’t.

I hope 44 is taking is time and formulating a complete solution, and not just listening to 4-star solutions that involve bombing everything that moves.
