Just another, not altogether unexpected, housemate’s endorsement of the former speaker. This time from HD-26’s Andy Kerr, currently serving as the House Assistant Majority Leader.
Full text follows after the bump.
I am giving Andrew Romanoff my full support in his race for the United States Senate.
For more than a decade, from our days participating in the Young Democrats, to our years serving together in the Colorado House, I have known Andrew Romanoff to be a man of deep conviction, intelligence, and creativity. Time after time, he saw opportunities and solutions, where others only saw arguments. Facing deeply divisive issues, in times of stifling partisanship, he found answers that worked for all Coloradans. He built consensus by pairing a deep grasp of policy with a keen moral clarity. Andrew Romanoff knows what is right, and he knows how to make it work. His leadership enabled the passage of crucial legislation, like Referendum C, which pulled Colorado’s budget from the brink of collapse. Rather than be mired in distractions, he focused on our values and steered the state toward tough but responsible decisions.
I personally depended on Andrew Romanoff’s vision many times. In our fight to divest Colorado from its involvement with the repressive government of Sudan, I discovered that the international and economic issues were complicated. But we both believed the human imperative was perfectly clear. With skillful persistence, Speaker Romanoff built a broad coalition and ended our state’s investment in a place where human suffering could no longer be ignored. His leadership helped Colorado be a leader to the world.
If we can bring Andrew Romanoff’s talent, wit, and fight to Washington D.C., I know that Colorado will have an effective champion for our values. He has served our state honorably and skillfully, and Colorado could have no smarter or stronger national voice as it faces the challenges ahead.

Yours truly,
Andy Kerr

seems more like an endorsement for Romanoff to run for Governor.
How exactly is he going to help Colorado’s decimated budget in Washington D.C.?
any positive news about Romanoff
gets attacked.
I particularly found this interesting:
After your comments yesterday, this is hardly an attack. If you’re going to sya something like that, why don’t you say it to someone who didn’t praise Morgan Carroll and Cary Kennedy’s endorsements.
this is just one of many endorsements on both sides.
I was glad to see Romanoff leading on an issue that has global importance, such as divesting PERA from Sudan.

Divestiture from Sudan was needed. He did lead it. I give him credit.
More just touting his accomplishments as a legislator.
The question I have is will we have a diary every single time someone endorses him? Because that’s just sort of sad if that’s what we have to look forward to for the next 10 months. I can see posting endorsements that are big in the political world, such as President Obama or Cary Kennedy but if the rate we are going, we’re going to be reading diaries about “Poudre Valley School Board Member Meredith Chavin Endorses Romanoff!”
Colorado’s budget is on the brink of collapse again, and we could really use that kind of leadership again at the state level.
Looks like it. Ken Gordon is next!
You just wait until I, the Great One, endorse him. They’ll be an entire series to celebrate the occasion.
a poll when you post that endorsement!
Thanks for the reminder. It will probably go something like this:
I would love to see if Morse endorses. There’s someone whose opinion I respect.
