To use the calm and measured tone of our president, The market is in melt down! It's a complete disaster! It's imploding!
Pennsylvania gerrymandering is officially dead. Justice Alito refuses PA GOP request.
Sweet……I guess sometimes federalism and state's rights can bite the right wing on the ass.
Somewhere from the bowels of hell, Strom Thurmond should be looking up and smiling that a potentially activist federal court was stopped by a state constitution.
Now it's all over but for figuring out who generates maps andcwith which data set. (The PA GOP controlled Legislature has refused to hand over their demographics data to the PA Supreme Court.)
They're in contempt! Lock them up, lock them up!
Technically they might not be. The Court will appoint a Special Master to draw the districts if the Legislature doesn't pass a map that the Governor is willing to sign, or if the Court deems the resulting map unfair. But the requested data was to be used to draw the maps, so the question of contempt is up in the air.
FWIW, outside voting advocacy groups have volunteered to provide their own version of the data if the Court requests it.
There is a nice solution!
One GOP State Rep has figured out a solution: impeach the Democrats on the Court. If the GOP actually agrees to go down this route, they could delay the ruling – no judge under impeachment can perform their duties until they are cleared.
Chaps my hide to have to credit Alito for doing something right, but imagining how frustrated the Repubs are right now makes it go down easier.
Looks like Cheetolini is not happy that his dreams of running a fascist dictatorship isn't all it's cracked up to be:
Unlike with Obama's SOTU speech where a GOP congressman yelled "You lie!" when confronted with facts he didn't like, apparently this time no one in the audience felt the need to repeatedly state the obvious.
We need to know how Moderatus feels about this. And maybe Passionate Prune (PP) can also weigh in.
PP is busy trying to run to right of Mike Coffman in a district that leans a centimeter or two to the left of center.
Remember, C is for conservative.
I knew that frigging insane clapping for himself (right into the mike) was ominous. Masha Gessen, a Russian journalist and Putin biographer, said on AMJoy that Trump's clapping was "chilling", reminding her of how authoritarians demand that followers prove their loyalty by clapping louder, jumping up more often, cheering more enthusiastically, and if they don't demonstrate their loyalty this way, they are considered suspect.
His clapping for himself was his command to the faithful: this is what I expect of you.
Solzhenitsyn wrote about the fate of those politburo members who were the first to stop clapping at Stalin’s speeches. The result being old men clapping themselves to complete exhaustion, passing out, falling over, and still being sent on one-way Gulag fact-funding junkets.

So I just saw; and three in hospital. That sucks. Wanna bet the shooter (dead now) was a right-wing wack-nut?
Probably so, cook. If the shooter were a Muslim, it would have been all over Fox news by now as a "terrorist attack". So yeah, citizen batterer of whatever skin color and political persuasion is most likely.
It was a "domestic disturbance" call – that's why I conclude that it was a batterer.
