Now there is a headline that is long overdue.

    1. Remembering the bitter primary (x2) Now well behind us here in CD-5, I just couldn’t resist the headline.

They actually agree on several things, as one might expect.

  1. Remember the good old days when politics and political parties refrained from interfering with school board races? Looks like those days are over in Falcon.

And that website is enough to make me want to vomit–any time an organization starts quoting Sarah Palin as an expert on anything is when I cease to take everything they have to say seriously.

    1. He wrote an opinion piece about politicizing board races earlier this week.

He’s all in favor, he was lamenting that Republicans vote for Democrats when they vote based on policies and ideas instead of party affiliation.

      1. He leaves out relevant facts, even those he’s reported before, and takes the basic approach that no one would ever win a local election with a D after their name. Somehow Obama must have passed for an R last cycle when he won Arapahoe County by a wide margin.

    2. From the RCF website

      Non Partisan endorsments.

As you may know, school board and fire protection district elections are non-partisan. In public school board elections, candidates are prevented by law from running as a representative of a political party. As a civic organization, the RCF respects the difference in these non partisan offices.

We exercise our constitutional right to free speech by communicating our preference and endorsement of the positions of each candidate as an individual. Endorsements are made based on values, and the stated position of each candidate. To secure our endorsement for a partisan office, a candidate MUST be a Republican. For a non partisan office, the candidate must demonstrate only that their views are in harmony with the stated civic goals and views of the RCF. The candidate may be a registered voter from any party, or no party (Unaffiliated).

      ————————–

      RCF principals on Education:

Because our children need and are entitled to the best education in the world, we believe in parental involvement, family choice in schooling, teacher and administration accountability, the authority of local school boards, pay for performance, safe classrooms, and an emphasis on basic skills and student achievement.

        1. A candidate endorsement by Citizens Project, the Rotary Club, or the Gill Foundation does not make that organization’s endorsement a political party endorsement from the Republican or Democratic Party.

  2. effective bipartisan leadership at all levels of government to improve the lives of all citizens and other living things.

I fixed it so it reflected what you really wanted to say.  Sustainable societies move forward with democratic representation and compromise.
