  1. Why in hell would a Norwegian emigrate to the USA? I know two who did. He was a bow hunter who came on a number of annual big game expeditions. 30 years ago he developed a better bow. He and his wife emigrated first to Ohio to build a factory and sell bows only because the costs were lower since almost all bows were sold to Americans. His niche is why he came. He stayed because he became wealthy and had American kids, now adults, who are American Westerners. Visits Norway every summer for a month. Brags a great deal about his homeland, especially their socialized medicine.

Only the cost of his bows produced these immigrants. Had he stayed in oil, as he was in Norway, he'd still be there. The white Europeans that our Shithole President wants largely have zero reason to come here for any more than a visit

  2. Do NOT be Bipartisan with this sick, amoral, anti-democratic, hateful, ignint, Motherfucking Shithole. He’ll be in jail, not soon enough, but soon enough.

    Happy Friday, Citizens!

      1. I carefully avoided an English major — but did teach speech and debate. I'm sort of curious about the logical elements of the variation in the space-time continuum implications of "not soon enough, but soon enough."

        1. I am an English major, (and a poet) and it makes sense as poetry. See:  anaphora , antithesis

What poetry does is inspire questions in the reader's mind. In this case, how long can this go on?  How soon can impeachment / resignation / 25th amendment action come? How soon will relief come? Will we have any country left when it's "soon enough" for action?

  3. As for Norwegians receiving favored immigrant status in Drumpfmerica, I can only imagine: . . .

    1.  Stable genius has heard about,  and admires,  Norway’s growing skinhead/neo-Nazi movement?

    B. Norway rhymes with “poor pay,” and stable genius likes that idea as the basis for his next tax plan?

    6.  Stable genius heard somewhere Norway’s where the Sweedish Bikini Team came from?

    3.  His BFF Kim Jong-un told him that’s his favorite place to vacation?

    g.  He wants to reward Norway for all it’s recent F-52 fighter jet purchases, and all the American jobs those purchases have created?

    A.  All of the above?

    1. He's just trying to rescue all those politicians of pure European ancestry who are being incinerated by the ravening Muslim hordes in the Norwegian no-go zones.

  4. The president of the United States is a racist. That is the takeaway from his comments.

But, to your point, what we should all want in immigration policy, what has made our country great, is the ambitious, the daring, the risk takers. Those willing to work long hours to build a better life for their children. Willing to risk the wilderness in exchange for an opportunity. These people may come from the most developed countries, but probably not. Comfort and security do not generally foster the desire to work hard and take risk. Trump does not understand this because, even though he has never worked a hard day in his life, never had to worry where his next meal would come from, never had to worry if he could get health care for his child, he thinks that he is a risk taker and an achiever. He is not. He is a racist asshole.

  5. “Go Trump!!!!”

Donald Trump is going to end this week with a report that an adult film star was paid off to keep quiet about their affair.

One month before the 2016 election, Stephanie Clifford, also known by her stage name Stormy Daniels, was paid $130,000 in hush money as part of a non-disclosure agreement that barred her from speaking about a 2006 sexual encounter with Trump, according to a Wall Street Journal report published Friday afternoon.

  6. When you can't live in disgust and fear another moment…shed a little light.

No Friday Jams thread again, so leaving this here….

I'm learning this lovely song, along with my UU choir. The version here was performed by James Taylor and the Lowcountry Voices Choir, shortly after the massacre by the racist terrorist in Charleston, NC.

      1. laughMLK knew a few things about how to keep going in times like these. We could do much worse than to "turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King." Happy birthday to Martin on Monday!
