  1. The truth about political triangulation is that you abandon your own principles in order to support principles that go against your “beliefs”.

The question then is how often do Republicans reciprocate?

The answer is rarely, if at all, and that fact should be acknowledged any time the urge to be bipartisan strikes.

  2. Good news for guys. According to the business section of today's Post, Pfizer's 20 year patent on Viagra expires next week. V. is also good for high altitude mountaineers due to its positive effect on blood flow (elsewhere in the body!).

    1. Works on Democrats and Conservative Thought Leaders:

Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name.

Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

  3. Republican Rep. Trent Franks (AZ-08) is resigning effective Jan. 31 after it was decided to open a House Ethics Committee investigation on claims of sexual harassment. According to Franks' statement, he made two staffers uncomfortable by discussing "surrogacy issues" with them. (Franks and his wife did apparently have trouble in the baby-making department at one time, but there's got to be more to this than that…)

  4. In the "Don't Tell Me You Are Surprised Dept"

GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore stunned some listeners when he said he thought America was “great” during the era of slavery. Though he made the comments at a campaign rally in Florence, Alabama, more than two months ago, they’ve re-emerged in a viral tweet just days before the election.

Back in September, one of the few African-Americans in the crowd asked the candidate when he thought was the “last time” America was great.

“I think it was great at the time when families were united. Even though we had slavery, they cared for one another. … Our families were strong, our country had a direction,” Moore responded, according to a Los Angeles Times report in September.

At the same rally, he also referred to Native Americans and Asians as “reds and yellows,” the LA Times reported.

But I'm sure he has red and yellow friends, so he's not a racist, right Moldy?
