Q: Who to Q&A?

  • by: Colorado Pols

Now that we seem to have fixed the problem of slow posting times, we’re ready to get back to moderating Q&As with your favorite politicos.

We want to hear from you: Who do you want to see participate in a Q&A with Colorado Pols? For a list of past Q&As, look at the bottom of?the left-hand side of the page.

  1. Holtzman & Beauprez at the same time

Lamm, Perlmutter & Rubenstein at the same time

Who will participate and who will duck the challenge?

  2. Bill Winter has views worth hearing.

He speaks honestly and directly, and you won’t hear him just repeating party line talking points. He is a great example of what politics could be in this country.

For ~balance~ you could ask some questions of his opponent, Tom Tancredo, but I am pretty sure that no matter what the question, he thinks that putting troops on the border is the answer.

  3. let’s hear from the donors: trailhead, research and democracy, tim gill, jared polis, pat stryker, bruce benson, pete coors, etc.

let’s hear from the initiative folks: coloradans for marriage, coloradans for fairness and equality, defend colorado now, etc.

  4. I like Bad Moon Rising’s suggestion.

Let’s start with the three Gov Candidates, then Treasurer, AG, and SOS. Then hit the Cong Candidates. After that pull in those State House and Senate candidates from the “targeted races”.

  5. I agree with Demento that we need to get some Western Slopers. Pols has already had Buescher why don’t they get Penry and Smith in here, one after the other.

  6. I agree that the big guns (Governor wana-bee’s) should go first, then on down.  Then, because there is at lease one person from this blog who was unaware of who Buescher is, he gets my vote.  And to be honest , it would be interesting to hear from Bjorkland as that crew has caused a big stink lately.

  7. How about everyone who has decided NOT to run for office: Bridges, Hick, Coffman (well, maybe not), Norton, Spradley, Wiens, etc. We could go back to that FIRST gov line, where you had almost 20 people listed, and just work through them.

  8. the top campaign staff would be extremely interesting from both republican guv. candidates.  marshall, leggitt, williams, etc.  let’s hear what they have to say about the races and strategy.

  9. What about pol cum lobbyist Mike Feeley.  He could certainly set us straight on where we at and where we’re going.  Not so much the issues, bills and acts as the: operations, rules that may change, impacts down the road, and directions he sees the colorado political organism going.

  10. Yes! Please bring back the moderated Q&A forums. The earlier ones were excellent, but it’s been a long time and there are lots of new issues. Let’s hear (again, in many cases) from the statewide and congressional candidates. How about a forum of editors and/or political reporters from the major papers in Denver, Colo. Spgs., Grand Junction, Pueblo, Ft. Collins, etc. on their sense of the big issues? Hearing from the leaders in the state legislature would also be useful. What makes Benson and Bridges tick (and contribute gobs of cash)?

Continue to keep the Q&A forums balanced, polite, focused, and well-moderated, and you won’t go wrong!

Gripe: This site still does not have a privacy policy – what gives?

  11. id recommend not interviewing any of the CD5 guys cuz many of them have shown they cant set themselves apart as far as their stance on issues goes, just their experience.

a couple names that intrigue me: jim welcher. the donors(as mentioned above). lastly, big editors.

  12. Paul Noel Fiorino is listed as Independent Candidate for Governor of Colorado on the major poltico sites. Let’s here more from the guy who has the second largest voter base as
    the unaffiliated.

  13. Not sure of the relevance of having the former Democratic chair on Q&A when we need to hear from the CURRENT D & R chairs. Don’t forget the folks behind all the different state initiatives. Second on the editors.

  14. Angie Paccione, Marilyn Musgrave and Eric Eidsness

    Rubenstein, Perlmutter and Lamm

    All 3 gubernatorial candidates

    Ken Gordon and Mike Coffman

  15. Donkey Kong!

I’d like to hear from Ken S. and Wayne A. on:

    – NSA spying
    – Who they think a traitor is
    – Iran
    – The president’s completely illogical and inconsistent policy on those bad (or “good”) leaks of national security info.

  16. Let’s hear from Green Party candidate for SoS Rick VanWie.  So what if he won’t win?  He’s had a candidate ad here forever, although CoPols won’t include him on “the line.”  Rick may not have an impact on the race, but the statements and positions on his web site sure make a lot of sense.

Who else?  Bill Winter.  Everyone can appreciate his straight talk.

How about Western Slope HD-57 candidate Andy Gold?

Claire Levy and Jim Rettew, both vying to replace Tom Plant in HD-13.
