Is anyone surprised our sex predator POTUS is supporting a child molester for US Senate? The GOP is a corrupt party that cares only for its entitled ruling class, even if it means installing hypocritical sex predators and child molesters in the highest offices of the land.
Trump: I know Roy Moore. I am Roy Moore.
@tater – Not defending Trump, Moore, or anyone else in the GOP (as an unaffiliated, I have equal contempt for both parties), but where is the criticism of sexual offenders in the Democratic party?
Weinstein, Franken, now John Conyers, the liberal icon of the Democratic party. And let's not forget Bill Clinton, who got a pass on his indiscretions by Democratic feminists, some of whom are now fessing up to their complicity as being part of the problem, like Kirsten Gillibrand.
This is not a partisan issue. Period.
The criticism of sexual offenders in the Democratic Party is nuanced. Show me someone with multiple independent women without a political axe to grind claiming sexual touching at ages 14, 16, 17 and 18 and I would bet there would be plenty of protest. Show me someone with 17 women willing to go public with a whole pattern of sexual abuse, and I would bet there will be protests.
Thus far, take a look at what happened (is happening) to Weinstein, a Democrat who donated to campaigns. Or the Democrats already proposing Franken should resign after two charges with ambiguous elements, neither of which was with an employee, a minor, or someone he would likely have continuing contact with, and before an investigation could even be organized, let alone be conducted or come to some sort of outcome.
And to pile on…
Weinstein was not running for office.
Mistreatment of women from small incidents to large, offensive ones does not belong to either Party. It is obvious that examples of misbehavior are not partisan.
I'm sure we can all agree that the citadels of power (government and corporate) have swept the issue under the rug, and that needs to change
I would say however, that weaponizing of the issue by Republicans, Fox News and Brietbart is ABSOLUTELY partisan.
And, if they (the Republicans) get away with that, what will be the future “take-away” from those Democrats who were once reliable supporters of women’s issues, but see the political results of “unilateral disarmament”?
The issue is Roy Moore and Donald Trump, and it’s getting lost in the shrill “squirrel” shouting of the Right.
The issue, too, is the mistreatment of women in general, and I’m afraid that very important issue is going to be lost in the daily din and because of the unintended fallout?
Michelle Goldberg wrote a thoughtful article just this week:
When Our Allies Are Accused of Harassment
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/20/opinion/harassment-allis-franken.html
"Squirrel shouting"-Dio, I'm stealing that one. I wonder if we can get Beloit University to include that one on their 2018 list?
What John In Denver said. Also, Anthony Wiener was forced to resign when the allegations with him were proven true.
With Dems (post-Clinton at least), there is far more likely to be consequences for bad behavior, where you could be ostracized and lose the power you have as a result of your actions.
Republicans were mealy-mouthed about Trump when the Access Hollywood tape hit and are mealy-mouthed about Roy Moore. Yes, some have called for his dropping out of the race, but enough of them are either defending him or not doing enough to oppose him, and he won't step aside partly as a result of the lack of effort to push him out.
Both sides do it? Where is your contempt for Donald Trump allycat? I don't remember you being outraged about his conduct but you love to pile on when 'both sides do it'. Show me where you want to hold Donald Trump accountable for his miscreant conduct and I'll consider your 'both sides do it' criticisms as valid.
Roy. Did not. Have. Sexual relations. With that child.
My wonderful opinion is to consistently support and to personally demonstrate immoral, unkind, derisive, and disgusting behavior and actions.
I have one that sounds like Trump and fits his thinking in this situation, but it was so awful, I wasn't able to hit the post button.
"Look, I have a child. That's him. Bannon….I mean Barron. So why would I endorse a child molester in the Senate? But believe me, better a molester than a liberal. And the tax plan will grow jobs. "
When Trump chose to answer the reporter's questions about child molester Moore, he made sure to use his own child (Barron) in the background as a prop. Disgusting.
To answer allyncooper's question (Where is the criticism of sexual offenders in the Democratic party?):
Have you not been paying attention? Several articles on here about Steve Lebsock and former governor Tilson, multiple articles nationwide about Al Franken and now John Conyers, too many Hollywood celebrities to count, criticizing all sexual offenders in the Democratic and Republican parties.
The people mainly wanting to "weaponize" this, in parkhill's choice phrase, are men. They want to point fingers and say that men in the other party are worse offenders. Guess who is being practical and asking for a process that keeps vulnerable people safe and protects due process for the accused? Mostly women.
Among the cavalcade of nauseating is Trump's flagrant dishonesty, that demonstrates his complete contempt for the citizens of his country.
"I've looked in to his (Jones) record" like the Orange Menace gets his information from anything but Fox and Friends;
"and found he's soft on crime," after locking up the white supremacist bombers of the 16th street church in Birmingham.
Black lives don't matter, the truth doesn't matter, child molestation doesn't matter. Tax cuts for red state billionaires matter.
[sigh].
The world we live in . . .
. . . the world we’ve created and allowed.
Oh, you wanted a caption? . . .
“Fuckface Speaks”
"I could shoot Hillary Clinton on 5th Avenue and the press would do more front page articles of Al Franken. I love the 'both sides' purveyors like allycat".
