  1. Still clinging desperately to power with its stubby little fingers, the Trump crime family  uhh, administration awaits the new day hoping against hope that Trump won't stink as much as usual.

    But he does.

    Stay upwind, my friends.

    1. What's going to be his undoing is his high opinion of himself. He believes himself to be the superlative of–everything. He's the wealthiest, cleverest, smartest person ever to don an expensive suit. He can't fathom that there is anyone smarter than he. If he gets away with what he's already done, it will merely embolden him to further shady behavior, Soon enough, he will catapult over lines that people will not be able to brush off. If there are no hearings in progress by the midterms, I predict a Congressional massacre at the polls in '18. If this Congress won't stop him, voters may be inclined to elect one that will.

  2. from the "Legislators use Jesus to back the strangest things" department:

Roger Marshall, GOP Rep from Kansas, said,

“Just like Jesus said, ‘The poor will always be with us,’” he said. “There is a group of people that just don’t want health care and aren’t going to take care of themselves.”

Pressed on that point, Marshall shrugged.

“Just, like, homeless people. … I think just morally, spiritually, socially, [some people] just don’t want health care,” he said. “The Medicaid population, which is [on] a free credit card, as a group, do probably the least preventive medicine and taking care of themselves and eating healthy and exercising. And I’m not judging, I’m just saying socially that’s where they are. So there’s a group of people that even with unlimited access to health care are only going to use the emergency room when their arm is chopped off or when their pneumonia is so bad they get brought [into] the ER.”

This guy's also a medical doctor….and a complete arrogant ignoramus. He's a member of the GOP Doctor's Caucus, a group of 16 lawmakers with medical backgrounds who seek to unwind Obamacare. I think they may have signed onto the "Hypocritic Oath".

    1. “The Medicaid population, which is [on] a free credit card, as a group, do probably the least preventive medicine and taking care of themselves and eating healthy and exercising. And I’m not judging, I’m just saying socially that’s where they are -"

Oh really? You mean like some morbidly-obese, over 50 white guy chowing down a lot of red meat and carbohydrates, washing it down with lots of booze, then setting his fat ass in a chair smoking cigarettes?

Or a certain over 70 dude who won't exercise because he believes the heart only has a fixed number of beats in it and doesn't want to exhaust his number, sends the morbidly-obese governor of New Jersey on McDonald's runs and stuffs most beautiful pieces of chocolate cake in his pie hole?

I am being judgmental and owning up to it. The judgment I am making is the hypocrisy.

    2. Not to worry. Their version of SkyGod™ has everything under control (he’s so pretty and white!). He'll wrap his loving arms around the Donald and assure him that gutting health care and a tax cut for billionaires are THE most important things in the world right now.

There is so much wrong with this picture I don’t even know where to start.

      1. Donny Tiny Hands ain't gonna be happy that he's so much shorter than Jesus in that picture.  I don't think this is going to be the catalyst that finally allows Tiff to stop calling him Donald J Trump and let's her write "my father."

        1. He actually said THAT?   I had a lot of differences with George W. Bush but I believe he was genuine in his holy roller stuff. THIS is their dream president?

      2. Look! All those freshly indoctrinated white Christian graduates cheering the bombing in the Middle East. Because, Jesus.  Yes, they've found their dream President. Would somebody break it to them that the black guy was pretty good at that, too?

          1. Speaking of Trump signs, that eyesore on 76 by Roggen has been "edited"….it now reads "RUMP" in 15' high letters, and the T has been painted over. laugh

That's the west-facing one. The twin sign facing east now has a normal business advertisement on it, a restaurant or something. Seems that the Cervis don't find it worthwhile to keep on promoting the Donald.

            1. Didn't one of our trolls inform us that Snopes was controlled by George Soros, thus not credible?!?  Photoshopping is waaaay too easy these days.

              1. What makes you think Soros didn't pay me to drive views?

Actually, they describe their funding here.  Ad revenue and a single award from James Randi's foundation support the site.

  3. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you Pols for discontinuing using Limbaugh quotes for your open thread.

The quote today is another good one but doesn't really get to the heart of why individuals like Trump do evil things.  They willingly cross the line for ego satisfaction.  Like nearly all Republicans, they are obsessed with their egos and can't abide doing something for someone else that yields no benefit to themselves.  This is why shit holes like Moldy hate with a vengeance contributing to the betterment of  our communities.  What good is it paying school taxes when they don't have any kids in school.  Why should they care about helping the poor and sick when they are rich and healthy.

Evil exists because of ego which is the fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge.  It is possible to be self-aware and selfless at the same time but you have to understand that your moment in time exists as an opportunity to express all the amazing human attributes that each human is born with (kindness, courage, humor).  Those who choose the road of ego satisfaction will cross any line of ethics or social convention to get what they want.  And then there is Mother Theresa.  An anti-Republican is there ever was one.

  4. Pueblo Dems deliver "Pants on Fire" shorts to Scott Tipton.  Tipton lied twice (in town halls in Alamosa and Pueblo) about protecting people with pre-existing conditions.

Pueblo Indivisible donned homemade Tipton masks, protested outside his office, and presented staff with these lovely "hot pants" on Friday, May 12. Tipton is still spinning his line that the newest version of the AHCA protects people with pre-existing conditions, but judging by the comments on his Facebook feed, nobody is buying his story.

    1. I think my wife's going to win the bet about him not lasting until the mid-terms. The only question now is how many people The Yam takes down with him.

    1. Agreed but they are on the horns of a dilemma.

Piss off the electorate at large (most of whom are not paying close attention right now) or piss off the nut case base (most of whom pay very close attention all the time)?

They probably figure they have to appease the base – at least until they are safely passed the threat of a primary – and then they can start to put distance between themselves and Trump for the general.

It probably won't work for most of those in competitive districts. (Which is why Coffman was smart voting against the TrumpCare bill now.)

I'm reminded what happened when Kelly Ayotte tried to re-position herself in New Hampshire. Granted, she did it during one debate: Trump wasn't, then he was, then he wasn't a role model.

  5. Shut that whole thing down!!! We gots bigly things to do!!!

The Newter is channeling his inner Troy "if it's legitimate rape the body shuts that whole thing down" Akin today.

In the "there's a creepy old serial adulterer about to occupy an Embassy near you" department, the Trump Administration announces Callista Gingrich as Ambassador to the Vatican.

    1. Is this some kind of a joke, Michael? Because if it is, it's really funny.

Newt's former mistress and incumbent wife – a woman who had an affair with a married man – is going to be our ambassador to the Vatican? Perhaps when she arrives to present her credentials, Francis will perform the first and only exorcism to be broadcast over the Internet.

P.S. Wasn't the Misery Republican Senate candidate Troy's brother, Todd Akin?

    2. Michael, I'm no kind of Catholic, but the second Mrs. Gingrich as ambassador is messed up. I thought divorced people weren’t allowed to be proper Catholics anymore. Don't tell me Papa Frank had anything to do with this. I wonder if she'll be received if he reads up on her?

      1. I'm pretty sure Papa Frank didn't have anything to do with this. It's probably what it took to gets Newts nose extracted from Tiny Hands exit hole.

          1. In the other corner we have George Conway (SmellyAnne's yang) about to be named head of the Civil Rights Division at DOJ. He was a deep throat (pardon the pun) during the Lewinsky/Clinton impeachment days with an interesting history in the swamp.

      2. Notaskinnycook………

Not if one gets an annulment which I believe is what she and/Newter did after he converted to Catholicism. It's like Wife # 1 and Wife # 2 never existed in the eyes of God and the modern GOP.
