We’re three months into Donald Trump’s presidency. This is when the pundits predicted that Americans would grow fatigued over protesting against Trump’s agenda, and would “accept” the reality that radical and harmful changes were inevitable to our nation’s most basic institutions.
Once again: the pundits were wrong.
On Saturday, thousands of Coloradans again gathered in Denver’s Civic Center Park: this time to demand President Trump disclose his tax returns and financial history so the people can finally understand the sources of Trump’s wealth. With Tax Day approaching for most Americans this week, Trump’s virtually unprecedented refusal to come clean about his financial interests is both an insult and an injury. We deserve better, and in Denver one of the largest crowds of nationwide protests this weekend against Trump delivered the message loud and clear.
We are winning this country back. The news across the nation as the Easter congressional recess continues is of right-wing politicians running from their constituents, and the few who agreed to face the voters being overrun with questions they couldn’t answer. This coming weekend, another large protest march is expected to draw thousands back to downtown Denver. As the torrent of bad news for the Trump administration continues with no signs of improvement, now is the time to keep the pressure on. You are setting the stage for everything that comes next: the next life-or-death battle over health care or immigration, the answer to Trump’s next outrage, and the next election as we start to undo the damage.
Thanks for everything you’re doing and will continue to do to fight back. Here are ways to take action for the week of April 17th:
