"The Price"--Powerful New DSCC Ad Gut-Punches Trumpcare

  • by: Colorado Pols

The Hill reports on a powerful new ad from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee–playing on TV in 2018 Senate race states and with a nationwide digital buy:

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) has launched a new ad targeting the GOP ObamaCare replacement plan.

The 30-second ad, titled “The Price,” looks to highlight the increased costs middle-class families could pay for healthcare under the Republican proposal.

The beginning of the ad shows a couple selling their belongings. At the end of the ad, the couple is shown sitting next to a child in a hospital bed.

“What will the Republican health care bill cost you?” writing at the end of the ad says.

Without a word of spoken dialogue, this is one of the most compelling ads against repeal of the Affordable Care Act we’ve seen in all the years the law has been on the books. Much like the resurgence of popularity for “Obamacare” as it faces repeal under President Donald Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress, it’s possible that the country just wasn’t ready to handle this gut-punch of a message until the worst actually became likely.

At the 11th hour, America may finally be ready to hear it.

    1. Excellent point. We need to be tagging trump and his equally heartless, amoral, oligarch-fellating GOP congressional stooges with it every chance we get.

      1. Ok Hannity Jr. Jr. Your rhetoric is stupider than your stupidity. And as lame as Dems may be, the Trump/Russia/Putin betrayal will be frothing up the next 2 years solid.

A CIA agent was a  quoted at the start of this Cl-USSR-terf*ck,   saying of Trump that, "He will die in jail."

And that, if the CIA and NSA and others are as good and patriotic and we hope, is my true hope for Trump

  1. Powerful. It could equally show a packed emergency room, with people waiting 4-8 hours to be seen. Denver Health's ER used to be like that, back when it was called Denver General.

When I was finally gainfully employed with health insurance, my young son was amazed at how quickly he got seen at a nice, clean, cheerful hospital. I didn't have to walk him past bleeding drunks on gurneys to see a doctor. His take on it: "Geez, mom. You walk in, you see the doctor, the doctor says, "You need medicine." Then they go, "Here's your medicine".  That's cool!"

      1. Maybe not. Most people don't have Google Alerts set for "rape", as they don't seek it out or consider it a pleasant thing to read about.  What's your point?

What made this one so interesting to you? Was it that the crime was in Maryland, or that the victim is a high-school girl?

          1. Just from what you posted by your sweaty little hands.  Is that the only sexual assault that was reported today?  I don't usually follow local news in Maryland.

EDIT: Oh, ok…there’s an illegal immigration aspect to it. That’s why you suddenly care about this rape. Not the other 1,800 or so that occurred today. So, if this poor kid you suddenly care about gets pregnant, what if she doesn’t choose to keep the rapist’s baby?

            1. According to Petie, Rape is God's will if it is done by a white guy, an athlete, or a celebrity.  It is only newsworthy when it is someone who could be illegal.

        1. Nothing. But apparently, rapes that have a connection to undocumented immigrants have a special place in Pear's heart, and he just wanted to share his joy with us.  He's a great guy.

          1. Especially if she does get pregnant from the rape and is forced to carry the baby, whether she agrees or is ready or not.

Pear will be really glad at that turn of events — a baby practically justifies the rape in that case, right Pear?

        2. It accomplished PP's purpose. It got all of y'all typing about something other than that the Republican health care plan, which is supposed to be voted on tomorrow, will be a fricking disaster for Americans.

Plus, as a reply to a post about a young mom taking her young son to the doctor, it is really, really creepy, and shows how PP's mind works.

              1. It just hit me that PEAR is an anagram for RAPE.

That's not an accident, is it?  You've been trolling us on a whole other level.  You creepy diabolical genius.
