  1. You mean like Dame Nancy, "we have to pass the Bill so you can find out what's in it". So glad she was able to retain her position of Minority Leader. Now if the Democrats can elect Keith Ellison as DNC Chairman, they will be on the path to future greatness.

    1. Rep. Pelosi, who took over after the 2002 elections, when the Democrats were in the minority, the Senate was Republican, and the President was Bush. In 2004, in a year with a Republican winning the Presidency, the House stayed about the same. And in 2006, House Democrats picked up 31 votes and she was Speaker, ending 12 years of Democratic minorities.

      1. But what has she done lately for the Dem party? Yeah, the Dems picked up 6 House seats this year, but two of those were in Nevada which is trending more to the center. And Crescent Hardy was a one termer in NV who had some strange views about public lands.

  2. Here's a morsel of good news from Pueblo: One of the Public Utility Commission members (gasp!) backed consumers vs. Black Hills Energy!

Pueblo has suffered under Black Hills price gouging since 2008. They bought equipment they didn't need, penalize businesses who put in rooftop solar, and cut off poor people's power at the drop of a hat.

But today, thanks to Frances Koncija, Black Hills did not get their rate increase!

Koncilja claimed the rate request was larded with indirect expenses and costly debt that Black Hills customers shouldn’t have to pay.

“If we don’t rein in this company, they are going to continue to do this,” she said.

I'm even feeling a bit more friendly towards Hickenlooper – after appointing Glen (ALEC) Vaad as PUC Commissioner, Hick finally appointed a consumer advocate.

Pueblo folk have been suffering extreme utility rates for years. Right wing politicians have tried to blame it all on alternative energy and the clean power plan. At least one Commissioner is finally telling the truth.
