Most historians list 7 specific people as our founding fathers. Who are they?
Interesting note – several because of their background and/or experience during the revolutionary war, came to see themselves as citizens of the country more than citizen of a specific colony/state. That was rare at that time.

Without looking it up, I'd say: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, and Patrick Henry. That leaves one I can't recall. John Hancock?
After reading the Biography and seeing the show on Broadway, I became much more interested in this era of American History.
Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, and John Jay. (Not entirely positive on John Jay, but I think so.)
And for those of us who believe history repeats itself, 2016 isn't the first time you've had two politicians from New York going at each other. While it's true that Burr and Hamilton did not run against each other for the Presidency, the things they said about each other eventually resulted in fatal circumstances. At least Hilary and Donald haven't set up a duel. Yet.
Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, George Washington and John Adams is my list.
Confess I had to change…mixed up George Mason and James Madison. I believe the Federalist Papers, which were instrumental in the Constitution, were by James Madison, Alexander Hamilton and John Jay.
Majority Moderate & doremi win! And doremi is also correct on the authors of The Federalist Papers (which Hamilton did the Lion's share on).
