Obama In Denver Next Week

by: Colorado Pols

Thu Feb 12, 2009 at 13:40:17 PM MST

It's not deja vu, he's President now. From the Denver Post:

After hitting four states in four days, President Barack Obama is going back on the road next week to convince Americans his economic stimulus plan will get the job done.

The president is planning stops in Denver and Phoenix on Tuesday and Wednesday. That comes on top of a whirlwind of travel this week: Obama was scheduled to be in Peoria, Ill., Thursday afternoon after visiting Indiana, Florida and Virginia earlier.

A source told the Denver Post that Obama would be in Denver-metro area on Tuesday and that the White House is looking for a work site at which Obama can tout green energy components of the $798 billion federal stimulus bill.

He can finally thank Laughing Boy for giving him the final push to the White House.   ;)

He should thank me...

Right, LB.
Because if there's one thing that's clear, it's that Obama doesn't know history, or law, or economics. The country would be far better off if he spent a couple of days being tutored by you, who are clearly his intellectual superior.

In fact, if only you were president, what a wonderful world it would be....

No kidding!
You guys would be so lovin' if I was President.

Only if you gave me a cabinet post.
I'd kinda like secretary of state.

He wants a place to speak...
I think Windward (my company) is the perfect company. Barack Mr. President - call me!

Amazon tax? Bad Idea!

NREL ?
That's my best guess.  Either that or at a wind prop manufacturer.

Lots of green energy companies
in the Denver metro area. The Obama people have said, consistent with stops on the tour so far, that they plan to visit a "work site" -- emphasizing the private jobs created, so probably not NREL.

[ Parent ]
Heheheh.
Maybe that's not such a good idea.

Especially considering what happened to the President at Caterpillar yesterday.

"Kevin and I will keep them out somehow -- even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!"

Its a question of when
At some point Caterpillar will start hiring again.  Are they talking about the same time frame ?

Does " This package will help companies like Caterpillar hire some of the people they laid off " equal "Caterpillar will be re-hiring laid off workers because of this package" mean the same thing ?  I know it's semantics but they are a little different.

Presumably...
He's touring the factories to show the dire need for people to buy into this bill, which to me is now the legislative version of that fucking blue horse outside of DIA.

What's not mentioned, either, is how a cap-and-trade system would devastate companies like Caterpillar.

Another reason to speak at Windward
We're interviewing right now to hire for 1 position.

Amazon tax? Bad Idea!
