Eric Trump Makes Us Uncomfortable

The Colorado Springs Gazette’s Joey Bunch reports on Trump-spawn Eric Trump’s campaign swing in Colorado, yesterday in Denver and moving north today to Greeley:

Eric Trump, the presidential candidate’s 32-year-old son, came to Colorado Monday to talk business and energize volunteers, but he was armed and ready to defend his father’s personal reputation.

He blamed Hillary Clinton’s campaign for releasing a 2005 “Access Hollywood” audio tape in which his father made lewd comments about kissing and groping women against their will, and getting away with because he’s a celebrity…

“And, listen, my father apologized for it. He was right to apologize for it, and I’m glad he apologized for it. At the same time, if you look at her track record with women, it’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrible.”

There has been no evidence that the Clinton campaign released the damaging tape. [Pols emphasis]

Nobody knows where the tape in question came from as of this writing, but the source of the leaked video in question is irrelevant: it’s what’s on the tape that matters. Somewhere deep in the hedonistic recesses of the younger Trump’s mind, he’s aware of it:

“At the same time, I think it’s locker room banter,” he said, repeating his father’s description of it. “I think sometimes when guys are together they get carried away, and sometimes that’s what happens when alpha personalities are in the same presence. At the same time, I’m not saying it’s right…”

Got that, folks? Dad’s just an “alpha personality,” and that means when he gets around other alpha personalities, why, bragging about sexually assaulting women is just what happens! It’s not right, (dramatic pause) “but hey.” And besides, it’s Hillary Clinton’s fault for releasing the tape more than Donald Trump’s fault for, you know, saying what he said. After all, boys will be boys!

One thing’s for sure, this kid learned some great values growing up.

    1. And Mr. Trump has been sued many times for gender discrimination for having women fired for being pregnant or because he didn't believe they were attractive and therefore shouldn't work at one of his properties. He always settles those lawsuits that way it becomes nothing more than a corporate expense because in the meantime, he hires the kind of women he wants.

And isn't it true Mr. Trump cheated on his first two wives and then divorced them. So apparently, he's done "horrible things to women." I'm sure you agree.

      1. The same jackal that boasted to Howard Stern that the 70's and early 80's were his 'personal VietNam': he slept with soooo many women (presumably not all of them yielded consent) and he didn't even get an STD!!

Fluffy, you've almost moved beyond entertainment value even for the Briebart deplorables.

    2. Clinton isn't on tape bragging about committing sexual assault. But I'll give you Bill's behavior was sleazy. Especially with the young Monica Lewinsky. There is no proof that he ever raped anyone or forced his attentions on anyone against their will so you can believe what you want but have no right to state as fact that his actions were worse than Trumps.

That said and, once again, I'm fully on board with finding Bill pretty disgusting in his own right, being sleazy is far from the worst thing about Trump. But you're the ones who are always going on about being the moral majority, the family values champions, the party of the Godly. You can support Trump or you can expect people to take your self righteous posturing seriously. You can't do both.

    1. The DNC did undercut Bernie but the real story is how they cut out all possible competition over a period of years to clear the way for HRC as the anointed one prior to his emergence.

Bernie was a surprise and they did all they could to undercut him but the truth is he would have lost the head to head primary in any case because the majority of Dem primary voters always saw him as too lefty and unelectable.

HRC won handily among elected delegates She would still have have won with supers allocated proportionally, with no supers at all, with Bernie managing to get most supers in states where she won the elected delegates to come over to him… any permutation you care to run. Run the numbers and they all come up HRC as Bernie himself admits.

Bernie didn't lose because of primary season shenanigans. He did stunningly well as an unlikely challenger despite the shenanigans in a race that was determined by the DNC well before the latter days of 2015.

And of course who could have predicted Trump. Any Dem with lower negatives than HRC would have put him away long ago.

      1. I think what you say may be true, but I still don't find it easier hearing about the fingers on the scale– especially when they belong to the chief weigher.

Hacked Email Appears to Show That Donna Brazile Fed Clinton Campaign a Town Hall Question

“From time to time I get the questions in advance,” Brazile—then a CNN contributor—wrote in the subject line of a March 12 email to Clinton aides, which turned up in WikiLeaks’ hacked trove of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails. “Here's one that worries me about HRC,” she wrote in the body text. She then pasted this:

        DEATH PENALTY

19 states and the District of Columbia have banned the death penalty. 31 states, including Ohio, still have the death penalty. According to the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, since 1973, 156 people have been on death row and later set free. Since 1976, 1,414 people have been executed in the U.S. That’s 11% of Americans who were sentenced to die, but later exonerated and freed. Should Ohio and the 30 other states join the current list and abolish the death penalty?

During the March 13 Democratic presidential town hall in Columbus, Ohio, co-hosted by CNN and TV One, host Roland Martin of the latter network (and a previous contributor to CNN himself) introduced a question that began with a similar prelude. “Secretary Clinton,” Martin said, “since 1976, we have executed 1,414 people in this country.  Since 1973, 156 who were convicted have been exonerated from the death row. This gentleman here is one of them.” He then turned the floor to Ricky Jackson, who, battling his own emotions, asked Clinton, “I would like to know how can you still take your stance on the death penalty in light of what we know right now."

          1. While that's a little like being asked when I stopped beating my wife, I've said before I'm not voting for Hillary.  I'm leaving the line blank, because I haven't found a candidate I'm willing to vote for/

            1. My mistake. I gave you credit you don't deserve in this matter. I assumed you had the sense to vote for a candidate who pretty much shares Obama's and even Bernie Sander's views on a solid majority of issues, though granted a higher percentage with fellow slightly left of center President Obama, instead of  going the Nader route. Especially since, as disastrous as that turned out to be in 2000, a similar result would make the Bush years, wars, economic collapses look just peachy by comparison to a Trump regime.

Fortunately for you it looks like there's more than enough of us with enough sense to save you from that eventuality.  You won't ever have to justify letting Trump win rather than voting for a candidate who would have been pretty much like Obama in office. Maybe that's not your ideal but compared to Trump?

I know a few 2000 Florida Nader voters and their early Bush presidency remorse was sad to see. But you'll get to have your purer than thou cake and eat it too thanks to Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, President and Michelle Obama and the rest of us who will elect flawed (as are all pols including Bernie and anyone you might choose to vote for instead) but competent, qualified HRC who really has done a lot of good work in the world, especially on women's, children's and family issues.

              You're welcome. Enjoy.

  1. Poor Moderatus. Trump is such a slime bucket that all he can do is to try a mis-direction over to Bill Clinton and hope nobody notices. Moddy: maybe you should become a R.A.T. like me (Republican Against Trump).

Or even better, how about a C.A.T. (Conservative Against Trump)?

Interesting revelation today: Trump and two of his strongest and most vocal supporters, Rudy G. and Newt G., have a total of 9 marriages among them. Got to really love those family values guys.

    1. Another interesting factoid, C.H.B., is that each successive wife is about 10 to 15 years younger than her predecessor. For example, Newt went from marrying (and divorcing) his high school math teacher to Maryanne Gingrich (who at least was age appropriate) to the young and vibrant Calistra.
