I would support Warren in a heartbeat.
I did support her this last cycle. And Merkley, and Bernie, and Andrew Romanoff and Tom Udall. Not Mark.
Warren is trashing this horrible budget that rewards Citi. She's trashing Citi, she's calling out Republicans and Democrats and Administration Citi alums right now on the senate floor.
"Enough is enough."
Will she get support from her peers?
With Obama whipping the bill, I think passage is a done deal. But looking ahead…
Pretty depressing.
We would have just a good a chance of electing WIlliam Jennings Bryant. Hell- let's reelect Ronald Reagan. Heyy, I know Abner Mikva is still alive.
The electoral math does not favor Warren. Or Sanders.
Jeb Bush, otoh, just needs to get through the primary and carry Ohio. Hell- he would probably carry Wisconsin and Washington. I bet he's polling well in Iowa. The way to beat him in the general is to find a left leaning "real" D. That way, when President Bush gets sworn in, we can all rest easier knowing we at least our support went to a worthy loser.
I think you under estimate the damage immigration will do to the republican party long before the next Presidential election. bush may not even get the nomination in the current gop. Remember how in 2010 after the midterms everyone said the Dems were doomed. Then look what happened in 2012. This is no different and the gop is not a united party. Their divisions are more severe than what you have in the Democratic party. Two years is a lifetime in politics.
Warren is a fine senator — I sent her $300 in her Senate race against Brown, primarily because it was "low-hanging fruit." But face it, if you want a woman candidate — and I do — it's hillary or nothing. And Warren is too old to wait for 2024, though a Hillary lo9ss in 2016 might make her viable in 2020. I know the likes of Dustpuppy poop their pants every time I mention Hillary, but that only proves she is the candidate most likely to win the American mainstream.
Just bear in mind. Stuff happens. HRC may not be a done deal just as Giuliani v HRC turned out not to be a done deal in 2008.
