Did Congress Really Just Get A Pay Raise?

This is the worst Congressional Body in history, and we are rewarding them…….

I just don’t understand how we reward people for screwing us over?  When did this practice become OK in America?  And why as Americans have we been so bamboozled that we accept it?

The issue is none of us will do anything. The electeds will all point fingers and still take the pay raise. In Colorado, I believe every one of our federally elected officials are multimillionaires.

What are we going to do about this? I would email all of them and let them know if they take the pay raise they have lost your vote. All of them! Dems and Repubs. I would then stick to that promise.

According to the order, Biden’s pay will increase from $225,521 to $231,900 a year, before taxes. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will see his salary increased to $224,500 and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will take home an annual pay of $194,400 after his raise.

While Obama’s order made no mention of merit for such a raise, HuffPost’s Amanda Terkel reported on Friday that the 112th Congress is set to end the session as the most unproductive since the 1940s, with only 219 bills passed by the body becoming law.

  1. The only way this gets better is if we get rid of safe districts. 75% of all legislators will be re-elected. That doesn’t benefit us, it benefits them. A bunch of rich spoiled people that are taking advantage of America by not doing the job they are being paid handsomely for.

  2. Mark is worth $1.4 as of 2010

Diana is worth $1.2 to 1.8 as of 2010

    Lamborn is not a millionaire

Coffman is listed as $400K to $1.7 million

    Gardner is not a millionaire

According to Ballotpedia.  Not saying this is accurate, but all of them are doing well, which was my point. They are wealthy, and well within striking distance of being more wealthy.  Not begrudging being wealthy, just saying none of them identify with the average American.

What kind of country are we that people are actually saying $250,000 per year is middle class?  $250,000 is doing OK in my circle of friends….
