UPDATE 9:40 p.m. : All three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) have called Ohio for Obama. Romney is not yet conceding, but fat lady singing anyway; Obama holding leads in Colorado, Nevada, Florida and Virginia.

Ohio was called for Obama at 9:10 p.m. There are no paths left for Romney to win the Presidency. Final results will likely show a blowout victory.

and thought I was optimistic. I’ll stay up to see our President’s speech and Romney’s concession and get a full night sleep
Great work to all who put sweat and money into this.
A good day for the country – not great, because the House remains toxic.
But TG President Obama won!
On Tuesday February 28th, 2012 I said, “Until I have new information, I think this is why Romney will win in the general election. Look at Michigan tonight, in a state where the automobile industry is everything Romney, who said that GM should die, won by 4%. That is going to be the story in November as well. It does not matter that he is a much worse candidate than Obama, he is going to be pushed over the finish line by big money.”
I have almost never been happier to have been wrong.
!!
SCOTUS
for ACA, Supreme Court, imminent prosperity, greater chance for peace, upcoming immigration reform…
send lawyers, guns and money
Colorado and Nevada will go to Obama so it won’t matter.
tomorrow is gonna be even brighter than today
Trump calling for revolution
everywhere are pouting tonight . . .
Whatever are we going to do without all of our John Galts?
guessing how much longer it’ll be before
dickheadWillard finally concedes? The concession program is complete and uploaded into the Willard unit — a completely forgettable speech rendered with the full sincerity that made this unit a contender.
. . . And, now it’s time to shake the old etch-a-sketch one last time Republicans — lots of work to be done between now and 2016 to get that next rich, white guy ready for a run.
Adios, Willard!

This d-bag predicted a Romney landslide yesterday.

That said, the people at CU were really using the wrong model. They should follow people like Silver who have a record of accurately calling elections.
When we close out NV, VA and FL that will make it all the better. Anyone seen ArapGOP?
Home by 10!
when Rove kept insisting that no matter what the mainstream pollsters’ numbers said he, Rove, had the numbers? Well he didn’t. And this time the right insisted that all the polls were skewed and honest polls would show Romney heading toward a huge victory? Well the polls were pretty darned accurate, especially the polls considered more left leaning.
So I think it’s time for Republicans to realize that what they refer to as the lame stream media really is a lot less lame than their little bubble world of FOX and conservative talk radio. It’s also time for progressives to stop letting them scare the beejeezus out of us.
Our President got re-elected in a decisive electoral college win and also by popular vote. After 4 years of relentless racist attacks he only lost a few of points of the white vote.
He only lost two states that he won in 2008, Indiana, which he barely won before, and N. Carolina in a close one. He didn’t lose his edge with women or minorities. He only slipped slightly with young voters, still commanding 60% and an even higher percent of Latinos than in 2008.
The enthusiasm gap was a myth. Turn out among all his demos from 2008 was fantastic. Our Senate candidates won in so many of the close states that we will actually have a slightly bigger edge than before. The House stayed much the same but those seats don’t have to be won statewide. Marriage equality won in two more states. Personhood amendments are dead and buried. Two more states voted to legalize marijuana.
It’s time for us to stop being on the defensive, fearing the likes of Limbaugh, conceding that America is really a conservative nation and we have to be careful not to come across as too liberal. We, the progressives, are the 21st century normal. We are the ones close to the 21st century American center. We are not out of step. Let the grumpy old white right start worrying about us.
Hear that dwyer? Sleep well.
It’s hard to say where the House “really” should have been after tonight; some redistricting analysis showed that the GOP redistricted themselves into a three-seat gain. If so, Democrats will do okay even holding their current membership total – and it looks like they might pick up one or two seats.
But we unofficially say goodbye to Allan West and Joe Walsh tonight, and we’re holding another one in reserve for Michele Bachmann. That has to count for something.
…you know, the insiders with the facts…
Belief w/o facts, or in the defense of facts, is also known as religion. And religion always fails the Reality Test.
for Rush, and FOX, and Eric Anderson, and Rove, and Hannity, and all their ilk everywhere . . .
These guys are already sermonizing that if Republicans had been more severely and consistently conservative they would have mopped the floor. I agree wholeheartedly — the Republican Party must become much more conservative. The keys to future victories everywhere will be found on the far, far, far, far, far, far right.
. . . listen to your betters, Republicans.
I’ll bet that website gets taken down in a couple days.
One of the most fun things last night was watching Fox News (which, admittedly, I rarely watch). First it was watching the look on the faces of the Fox anchors when the President was named the winner.
then it was Karl Rove facing off against the rest of the Fox “news” team, insisting that Ohio had been called too early, and making the argument that only about 900 votes separated the President from Romney, This was about 9 p.m. or so. At the same time, Fox was running numbers from the Secretary of State that showed the President with about a 30k vote lead. Then Megan Kelly stormed off to the Fox election data center to have it out with Rove and the other Fox election analysts. It was absolutely as comical as Fox will ever get.
Watching Karl in full on reality-denial mode was classic, and the Fox ‘analysts’ trying to talk him off the ledge. Priceless.
I am glad that Obama won and that he carried Colorado…..I am glad that my projections and concerns proved not to work out.
I can not believe that those arrogant, elitiest, top down OFA people carried this off! damm, now they will be around forever. I stand in awe.
into confidence!! …and relax. 🙂
