Predicting the Primaries

by: Colorado Pols

Colorado Pols readers have been pretty good at predicting election outcomes in the past, so let's give it another whirl, shall we? Please vote below based on your educated guess at what is going to happen, not on which candidate you personally like better...

Boy, you would have thought the numerous Ed shills would be tearing up this poll. Perhaps reality has set in.

Crank hates Jesus and wants to ban religion.
Lamborn speaks to Jesus nightly in a ritual he calls "prayer."

Crank wants the US to surrender to Al Qaida.
Lamborn believes in national security.

Crank's positions on the issues are nearly identical to Ted Kennedy.
Lamborn believes in Ronald Reagan principles and values.

Who's got your vote?

The only CD-7 question now is whether or not Every Way Ed (if he doesn't drop out) will finish behind Nutty Herb.

I just like the statement that ColoradoPols has been pretty good at predicting the outcomes of races.
I would love to see the poll results on what people think of that one. I suppose it depends on how far back you look.

One month left until the primaries. This should be a nice test of the site's current credibillity.

It will be really sa
It will be really sad if PL wins the primary.  She can't beat  O'Donnell in the general election.  We will have handed the 7th CD over to him then.

Remember, Rick actually lives in the District.

Please read more car
Please read more carefully. We didn't say that WE have been good at predicting outcomes - we said that Colorado Pols readers have collectively been pretty good. Reader polls predicted the Referendum C outcome almost to the percentage, and they predicted Beauprez's win over Holtzman pretty accurately as well. Obviously that isn't scientific, so hold your predictable comments, but we're happy to give credit to our readers for having a good pulse on things.

The best way to rega
The best way to regain control of the colorado state senate is to retain the current Republican senators.  Doug Lamborn included.

Rivera for Congress 2006 !!!

Bad day for Ed on Po
Bad day for Ed on Pols.  Down in the poll, and no response to Peggy's over-expectations fundraising numbers.

Lamm can't beat O'Do
Lamm can't beat O'Donnell in the general?

Really?

Because based on every factor I've looked at, she's the Democrat most likely to beat him.  Herb can't.  Ed looks very similar to Rick on paper.

Peggy has a much better chance of winning over moderate Republicans (especially women) than Ed does.

If you look at this race strategically, Peggy's the only choice for Democrats who want to beat Republicans in Nov.

Lamborn is God: You
Lamborn is God:  You scare me.  You really do.  Just your post name alone is creepy enough but your views are whacked.  And no, I am not a Crank supporter.  I will be voting for the only reasonably minded conservative in CD5.  For all you ultra-rightwinged, social issue zealots, that person is John Anderson.  You don't want to believe it but there are more of "us" in CD5 than of you.

I'm rather disappointed to see Herb not in the lead, though not surprised. I think that people need to check out his website www.herbforcongress.com and see what this guy has to offer, which is a lot. Rubenstein is the only candidate qualified to do a good job as Congressman. Please consider voting for him, he's the right candidate for the job. Why not the best?

Frankly I don't even
Frankly I don't even know WHAT to say about Lamm being in the lead. Is this a joke? Do you people really want a soccer mom to be your Congresswoman? This is ridiculous and we need a hardcore candidate representing us.

I've met both Perlmutter and Rubenstein, and it literally took me a minute to realize which one was smarter. That's right, I'm talking about Herb Rubenstein. I wish more people knew about him because he is by far the best candidate.

Herb Rubenstein is quite impressive and it's sad that he isn't getting the votes that he deserves. He is a man of goodheartedness and strong will, and I know he will carry his strong values to the White House.

Give it a chance people and check him out. You might just be blown away. Thanks.

Just because you're
Just because you're not religious doesn't mean Doug Lamborn is not immortal.

Think about it.

Crank, Rivera and JW Anderson are loony libs who take their cues from Howard Dean.

Lamborn is a real conservative.

Lamborn is only receiving 21.8% of the current vote in this poll. It is abundantly clear that the other 78.2% of the voters are card-carrying members of the Communist Party.

i heard they were struggling to get attendees for this event.  no surprise, based on the fact that only about 10 percent of hefley supporters are with crank.  i also heard that lamborn was planning on attending to show support for retiring hefley?

Now that Scott Store
Now that Scott Storey is back at his desk will he release the full investigative files concerning Peggy Lamm's alleged voter fraud? I hear the files are hilarious as Peggy tried to weave a tale. At the end of the day Storey chose not to prosecute only because he thought it would be considered a political vendetta. Why isn't the press clamoring to see these files? Do the Perlmutter boys have a copy?
Is Ferrugia preparing to do a follow up story?
Stay tuned

You're really gambli
You're really gambling that John Feruggia and the Storey file (where the D.A. found no probable cause that any crime was committed) is Every Way Ed's ticket to D.C.?  You better hope and pray that Tim Knaus comes up with something good to spend Jordan's 527 money on...........

Lamborn is God, I
Lamborn is God,

I heard Jeff Crank is so much in favor of abortion that he went off and had one himself.

Knowing Doug Lamborn
Knowing Doug Lamborn, rumor is that he will be working on Saturday.  Working the phones for absentee voters.  Maybe Lionel, Jeffie, and Duncan will step in for him??? Let's see, what is a better use of one's time, attending the Hefley Hosedown, or absentee phone banks?

Be careful, this one is a hard one.

Do you people really
Do you people really want a soccer mom to be your Congresswoman?

LammSucks:  Is it soccer or motherhood that disqualifies Peggy in your book?  I guess a former school teacher and State Rep just can't compete with "hardcore" attorneys.  Get real!

@ Lamm Sucks - I spent several years living in Washington state which is represented in the Senate by a real kick-ass individual - Patty Murray. You know what? She's a self-described "mom in tennis shoes" and she's something like 5 feet nothing tall. Google her to find out more. You think soccer moms can't be tough, then you haven't been to a little league soccer game lately.

"Thank you for putting your rank political motives on display." - ArapaGOP

How about the Hefley
How about the Hefley Hoedown was well attended and Lamborn could not be there in any case because the Senate is in session?  As for "Lamborn is God", are you all there?  Doug is a good person and a committed conservative, as is Jeff Crank.  So get off it.  You sound like someone who needs to calm down and drink some Kool-Aid.  I think Doug probably has some for you.

By the way Yooper, those of us who have been around a while remember when John Anderson first ran for Sheriff.  At that time, he claimed to be ardently pro-life and he pandered to all of the Christian conservatives.  I don't really care whether he is a right wingnut or a moderate Republican, but he hasn't been honest about his beliefs.

El Paso Pundit: Joh
El Paso Pundit:
John Anderson is pro-life with exceptions for the mothers life and victim of rape.  This is protected by law - -and being a strong supporter of the constitution, he is not in support of changing to document to "pander" as you say to the social agenda.  I've known Sheriff Anderson for 20 years and have not seen his pro-life position change once.  He never has nor never will pander to anyone.  If you really believe he hasn't been honest about his beliefs, may I suggest to you that you talk directly to him.  I suspect you are falling for political lies and smears.

Good news for Every Way in the ColoradoPols' poll on CD 7.  He's pulled ahead of Herb:
Lamm:  287
Perlmutter:  129
Herbenstein:  127

Don't believe the hype. Herb is Anti War. Nothing else matters. Herb will beat this drum until it's deader than the proverbial horse. Anit war anti war anti war. IF you care you will vote for herb. I'll vote in the poll and get your numbers back up boss.

Come on, it's not li
Come on, it's not literally the fact that Lamm is a soccer mom that discredits her for the job; she's just in over her head when it comes to politics. She is NOT clear when it comes down to the issues. Let's talk immigration as a microcosm... she has no clue what she's talking about when she says that she wants to just enforce the status quo, but the problem is that there's nothing to enforce! And Perlmutter? I'd be surprised if a -single- Democrat agreed with his stance, specifically with regards to amnesty.

Herb Rubenstein is the ONLY candidate with a written, solid, and quality immigration plan, and it's one of the best damn ideas for legislation that I've seen in recent election years, let alone compared to the meager material that his opponents have suggested. The thing about Rubenstein is that if you ask him about his stance on any issue, he can produce a hard-copy position on it. The other two candidates can't.

If you take the time to actually scrutinize the candidates' stances carefully, you'll see that Rubenstein is indisputably the most qualified individual. Recent poll voters agree, as Perlmutter has fallen behind and Lamm's lead is substantially lessening.

Lamm Unqualified, th
Lamm Unqualified, that wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you can vote over and over and over on this poll, do you?
