Where's Hickenlooper?

by: Half Glass Full

Where's Hickenlooper's campaign website? It's as hard to find as Waldo! What gives?

You search for "Hickenlooper" and you end up getting re-directed to "hooked rugs."

(Look, if I wanted to see ugly rugs I'd just do an image search for Scott McInnis.)

More after the jump...

Half Glass Full :: Where's Hickenlooper?
Seriously: John Hickenlooper should have had a website up on the day he announced - even if only a rudimentary one with a big, simple "donate" button.

I want to donate to the guy! I love the Hick! But when I google "Hickenlooper for governor" I get nothing. When I go to any possibly logical sites I get nada. Zip.

I understand that some Democratic operative registered nearly a dozen sites like "HickenlooperforColorado.com" an eternity ago: on January 8th. Well heck, my five-year-old could have had a site up and running by now!

I searched for so many sites with "Hickenlooper" that I finally got a page stating: "Based on your interests, here are some sites for you" - and directing me to "hooked rugs"!

I don't want hooks; I want The Hick!

C'mon, John! Don't let your supporters down!

Is he allowed to put up a website and get money yet?
I'm not as intimately familiar with campaign finance laws in this state as some polsters are, but maybe it's because he hasn't filed his official paperwork with the SoS yet.

That might be the explanation. I would expect that when he gets back from the Mayor's conference he'll file his paperwork and be a real candidate with a website and fundraising mechanism.

At least there will be one candidate in the Governor's race who's not embroiled in election ethics scandals--I mean, McInnis' [cough} er, the 527 and jazz.

You are totally right
If he raises a dime before he files he is breaking the law.  He could be connecting lots of pledges but said he is not going to get started until he is back from his trip.

Actually he has ten days after raising that first dime

LOL@ ugly rug.

Buck Stops Here.

Relax
It's not like Hickenlooper had months or even weeks to prepare for this. Expecting him to have a website up the day he announces, when he only learned four days earlier that Ritter was leaving, is a little ridiculous.

I've been trying to imagine bumper stickers for the Gov's race if Hick picked AR.
Hickenlooper/Romanoff 2010 would only fit on a big Suburban. In Denver, would the smaller cars sport, "Hick and Andy?"

There is a similar issue with Cary Kennedy. Hick and Cary?

What other combos do we have?

Buck Stops Here.

Hick and Cary
is not a potential combo. It's ridiculous to think Kennedy would step down from treasurer to lt. gov.

" Hick and Andy" vs "Hick and Cary"
Either way, it sounds like a name for a comic my grandfather used to read.

[ Parent ]
PS
The "grandfather" comment is based strictly on the campy-ness of the name combo's. I'm actually a huge Hick fan.

[ Parent ]
"Hick's My Pick" is slogan I saw on buttons previously
For Hickenlooper/Romanoff, they could put the name one above the other one being blue on red, the other red on blue with '10 in a white field at the end of bumper sticker.

This will be a graphic issue for anyone running with Hick since his name is so long. For example, a name as short as mine would not fit well either.
