  1. Grey, misty and wet – perfect day for phone banking and canvassing.

Good week – Thursday I fixed healthcare in America.
Shareholders stay rich as do the C-suite guys.  But they no longer get the oversize salaries – United Health top 5 made 26.4 million last year.

Meanwhile- every American is guaranteed basic coverage and access.
Big pharma still runs the world- but I'll get to them in a bit. (and they better start R&D inventing stuff. 98%+ of revenue gains in the sector in recent years have come from raising prices, not new product.)

      1. Because the chronically ill are a gold mine!  The alternative business model is to put a multimillion dollar price tag on the one-shot cure, but offer a lifetime payment plan (committing your heirs to continue payments in case of your untimely demise).

    1. Today was also a good day for phone banking and canvassing. Really fun time walking around talking with Dems with and without their gruntles attached, unaffiliateds, cynics, clueless, young newcomers, refugees,  old farts. It was great. We are canvassing for our Big Ten(t) Dinner coming up June 3. And this is also part of Morgan Carroll's People to People Listening Tour and Action Stop.

Everyone running for state office will be there, and I do mean everyone. All the gubernatorial candidates, the AG candidates, the CD4 candidates, the Treasurer candidates, hopefuls for Jerry Sonnenberg's seat and Cory Gardner's seat and…..

            1. Hey, just doing what I can to help you live out your Bruce Willis fantasy.

Once guns are harder to get, criminals will be the ones coming for YOUR guns, since they know you'll be the nearest supply depot.

Then you'll find out if people shooting at you are as easy to hit as a stationary paper target wink

              1. Well I think we can both agree its much more difficult to hit a target that shoots back. Interesting that you can't correlate that to school shooting situations.

But wait, if you make guns harder to get, how will those pesky criminals have guns to shoot at me with? Oh, you understand the reality of that fallacy as well.

Hypocrisy is the greatest luxury, ain't it?

                1. You must have a tough time thinking logically with your head so far up your ass.  Criminals already have guns, but like you, they always want more.  They'll always go where the guns are to resupply.  Your problem, not mine.

Although it is an established fact that one of your guns is many times more likely to be used to injure or kill yourself or someone you love rather than in self-defense.

You've already established your callous attitude, bordering on psychopathy, regarding human life, even apparently, your own.

                  1. At the risk of sounding callus, if Negev and his ammosexual ilk don't care about other peoples' lives, why should we care about the well-being of ammosexuals, including Negev?

That said, they are fine using mass shootings and dead children to push their line of bullshit.  I care about those innocents and it upsets me that for a long time, when a shooting occurs, I inwardly go "Ugh, here we go again."  Only from being so jaded by this debate.  But why did those kids have to die?

I have a 9-year-old nephew and a 4-year-old niece.  If they are so much as affected by a mass shooting, I'm holding people like Negev personally responsible.

                  2. Dude. You are literally conceding that making guns harder to get for law abiding citizens will not stop criminals from having guns while simultaneously  advocating making guns harder to get in order to stop crimes. And you question my logic?

                    1. It’s amazing to me that we have any problems at all, what with all the smart guys like you we’ve got running around with arsenals?!

                    2. And since Negev is so smart (per Dio, aka the Rainbow in the Daaaarrrk), I was wondering, how a bystander can tell the difference between a good guy with a gun and a bad guy with a gun?  Also, what signs should we look for that a good guy with a gun might just turn into a bad guy with a gun?

                    3. Dumbass, your reductio ad absurdum BS might impress the clowns you run around with, but it doesn't play well here in the real world where common sense says reducing preventable deaths is actually considered a good thing.

            2. Negev, the "banning guns will stop crime fable" only sells way more guns until the fable becomes a myth that is believed.

Once people look at the empirical studies about what happens with significant restrictions that result in actual decreases in weapons, seeing reductions in deaths to victims during crimes, reductions in deaths of on-duty police, reductions in domestic abuse murders, reductions in suicides AND reductions in violent crime, they may be willing to support and enact such effective regulations.

  2. Is it just me or does the fact that Rod Rosenstein responded so quickly to granting Trump's 'demands' seem like Rosenstein wanted to get this investigation opened before Rudy had time to sleep on it tonight and roll it back tomorrow morning?

Be careful for what you wish demand?

Trump has spent the last few days sounding the alarm on Twitter about claims that an FBI informant was embedded within his campaign. He has alleged, without evidence, that the FBI sought to spy on his campaign for political purposes, which Trump argued would be a scandal "bigger than Watergate."

The New York Times reported Friday that an FBI informant met with two former Trump campaign advisers, George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, after they'd received information that those two had contacts with Russia.

    1. It does seem like the perfect opportunity to bring out the real reasons the FBI thought that Carter Page was a foreign agent. In fact, it would be a good time to ask why almost all of Trumps campaign managers and consultants – Manafort, Lewandoski, Papadapoulos, Page, Bannon – had extensive business dealings in Russia,  or the Ukraine. The only one for whom I haven’t seen foreign contacts is Kellyanne Conway.
