What you can do to fight back this week (January 22)

  • by: ProgressNow Colorado

For weeks leading up to this past Saturday, the pundits crowed about the second Women’s March. There’s no way it would be anywhere near as big as last year’s, they said. The resistance is petering out, they said. Tax cuts for the wealthy bought off America, they said.

They were wrong.

An estimated 150,000 people turned out in downtown Denver Saturday for the Women’s March. [1] In major cities and small towns across the nation, massive crowds once again marched to for the dignity and rights of women—and to stand up to Donald Trump and the misogyny he has enabled and perpetuated in our society. People of all races and gender identities united for a common purpose, supporting each other without fear. From longtime activists to concerned citizens showing up to march for the first time, hope for the future was on display everywhere.

One year into Trump’s terrible presidency, the resistance as stronger than ever. Because of everything you are doing to fight back against Trump and the far-right agenda, next year’s Women’s March will have a new theme: victory. Not final, not total. But we are responding to the peril created by Trump, and doing exactly what we need to to take this country back in 2018.

Thank you for continuing to fight back week after week. Here are more ways to fight back for the week of January 22nd:
