(Aw, shucks – Promoted by Colorado Pols)
If you think that liking conservative talk radio and hating U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner are mutually exclusive, you would be wrong.
KNUS 710-AM co-hosts Julie Hayden and Chuck Bonniwell couldn’t have proven the point more clearly than they did last month in a segment titled, “Why We Hate Cory Gardner and Think You Should too.”
And in doing so, Bonniwell said something you don’t often hear from the mouths of righties: ColoradoPols is a much better blog than the conservative Colorado Peak Politics, which describes itself as “Colorado’s Conservative Bully Pulpit.”
Calling Pols “incredibly snarky, unfair, and everything else,” Bonniwell nonetheless said Pols is “kind of fun” and interesting reading, even though it’s a “left-wing” site.
Referring to Peak Politics, Bonniwell said, “You might as well read press releases and fall asleep, unfortunately.”
I wouldn’t even go that far, but yes, between Pols and Peak Politics, there’s objectively no contest.

That's right. We are a lot of fun because we like facts and figures and fairly well thought out thoughts. Here is to all those who think they have the skill set and perspective to offer meaty comments. Keep those barbs and banter coming.
conservative Colorado Peak Politics, which describes itself as “Colorado’s Conservative Bully Pulpit.”
Who would want to hang out in a pulpit for Conservative Bullies, anyway?
When (and in recent years, if) I get into a pulpit, I prefer to stick a bit closer to the themes of Micah. Skipping over the sexist limitations of pronouns and generic sexist focus on "O man,"
What I notice about Peak Politics is that they're really, really lazy. They very seldom bother to generate their own stories. They'll take someone else's story, as they did with mine about the Yuma protesters, and twist it and take quotes out of context to fit their "poor victimized Republicans" memes.
They never, ever do original investigative reporting.
They never, ever do analysis or commentary on the divisions within the Republican party: evangelical vs corporate, populist vs wealthy donors, the Bannon wing or Cruz wing vs the Trump wing. That would actually be useful; but Peaks won’t do it.
They promote a lot of crap memes from social media, some of which I recognize as originating from Russian or foreign trolls. They don't allow anonymous comments on their site, so if someone criticizes them, that poster is vulnerable to harassment on Facebook.
They love stories about how conservatives are victimized by liberals, even if they have to make up "alternative facts" as the basis of the story, which they do often.
It's less a news blog than a pity party.
