  1. Today is the big day! The Senate Republicans unveil their tax deform bill.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/08/us/politics/senate-republicans-will-diverge-from-house-in-sweeping-tax-rewrite.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

It;s the cure for hypertension. Eliminate all SALT. But it keeps some of the dreaded death tax.

How will Cory sell that to the farmers of the eastern plains? Or to the donors?

Not so coincidentally, Steve Bannon has called for the resignation of Mitch McConnell. Why stop there. The Senate GOP needs its entire leadership to step down.

      1. I’m confused, do I light them with my GOP middle-class tax cut, or my GOP home defense assault rifle . . .

. . . and why aren’t the prayers and instructions in GOP-approved Cyrillic script?

    1. Dems: Quit trying to win the vote of the Disgruntled White Male

I am starting to agree with Zappy. I hope I'm not coming down with something.

        1. He hit on her on a bench outside of a courthouse in the south. Couldn't he have just turned to her and said, "Life is like a box of chocolates."

          And left it at that.

          1. Those commandments Moore installed in his courthouse apparently didn’t have room to include . . .

Thou shalt not diddle minors. Neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. Again, I say unto thee: diddleth not any minor, nor causeth thou any minor to be diddled, lest the voters turn thee out.

    1. Isn't it okay to sin if you are a Christian? We're all sinners, anyway, so what's one more sin?

It's pretty easy, right? All you have to do is repent, and your ticket to the Golden Arches is stamped.

What is a "Real" Christian, anyway?

  2. More about Moore…..

First off, if this happened anywhere other than Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana (the last of three having the dead-girl-or-live-boy standard for candidate disqualification), Moore would be toast. All this does is make the race competitive.

What was his first reaction: deny, blame the "National Democrat Party" (for people who are big on English First or English Only, they should familiarize themselves with the difference between an adjective and a noun), and scream "Fake News."

Unless the National Enquirer or Fox News picks up the story, few folks in Alabama will give it any weight. It's interesting to note that Ms. Corfman voted for Trump and is apparently a Republican.

Finally, if this story does have legs, and if Mitch McConnell and Trump really do fear losing that seat over it and if they persuade Moore to drop out (after, of course, loudly denying the story and professing to want to spend more time with his family) , the question becomes who will be the replacement candidate.

Assuming the state GOP can name a replacement, will it be Big Luther (who finished a distant second in the run off), or Mo Brooks (who finished third in the preliminary primary and who may be preferable to Steve Bannon)?

  3. Brother, can you spare a dime?

Trump associates are getting buried in massive legal fees, and Roger Stone says his are more than $450,000

Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to President Donald Trump, blasted out a 1,600-word statement this week asking for help paying the nearly $460,000 in legal fees he says he has incurred since landing in the crosshairs of the federal and congressional investigations into Russia's interference in the 2016 US election.

Then, the obligatory 'invoke God' thing…

"I have yet to testify before the US Senate Intelligence Committee and anticipate that the legal representation I require for that exchange will easily put my legal bills even closer to the million dollar mark," Stone wrote. "I hope you will consider contributing anything you can to this Fund. You can do so your contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000 or more would be a Godsend."

  4. Man, now that we've learned ol' Roy “Ten Commandments/The Lord is my Co-Pilot” Moore is a pedophile, it seems the Trumpist Regressives are having a colossally suck-ass week, wouldn't you say?
